I have been searching all over the place for this answer. Maybe I am missing something. When I search I get multiple answers. The two sensors on top of the motor in the valve cover some people call "cam position sensors" and some call them the "cam position actuators." So...which is it. If they aren't the "sensors" where are they located on the motor. Thanks for your help.

From my understanding, the two on the top of the motor by the timing chain are the cam shaft actuators and the actual cam shaft sensor is under the HPFP.

In the pic I attached "Red" is the position sensor, "Blue" is the intake cam actuator, "Green" is the exhaust cam actuator. The 2 actuators are next to #1 coil pack on the valve cover.

its 1 10 mm bolt. I tried getting it off without taking the HPFP off but it was too hard. just easier to take the HPFP off

Which one? The actuators or the position sensor?

The actuators are literally the easiest thing you will probably ever fix.. lol. Each actuator is retained by 1 10mm bolt and then they pull straight out. Lube o-ring on new actuator and install the same way. Just make sure you don't mix up the intake for the exhaust actuator and vice versa. The position sensor is a little more involved only because it's not as in your face as the actuators but is still not very difficult. It's also retained with 1 10mm bolt.

Should be 12577245. I'm pretty sure that's the most recent number and nothing has superseded it.
