Advanced

I like the idea of the heavy moderation. Just delete all the crap. Anything remotely off-topic, antagonistic, or foolish. No questions asked, just delete.
The problem is, I doubt anyone gets paid to moderate, and it might be a lot of work for someone who is a casual user.

I volenteer for this sections moderator.
EDIT* I'm serious, I get on here pretty much every day so it wouldn't bother me. Also I was the one who made the thread about this problem and sent PMs to denny to get something done about it.

I think a good medium ground would be for NO members to be allowed to start topics in the advanced section.

Keep all threads in the regular forum, and if a user feels that it belongs in the advanced section, they should add a prefix like "Advanced: Thread title" when they start the thread.

After posting, moderators or popular demand would decide whether it ends up in the new forum or not, and it will be moved and the prefix removed.

This way even brand new users with great ideas can post there.

How about just all yellow Cobalt owners?! You can't leave us lowly 2.2s out can you?

Agreed.

I think the idea of having topics MOVED to the advanced section is a good one. It will still need to be heavily moderated but that will at least cut down on extraneous postings some.

Not to offend anyone , but Dan is theee 1st person that came to mind that would be a perfect moderator for this forum . To bad WopOnTour isnt around more , cause would make a great one too .

I dont think you should have to have permission to post either , thats childish to be honest . Its an attept to draw in more tech oriented discussion ......not alienate people with a board of directors

Open free forum , with competent moderator . If it can work on countless other sites I dont see why it would be any diff here . ::shrugs::

My time for input. On Honda-tech, they don't have a post count for **** like kill stories/lounge and other off topic parts of the site. They only have posts relevant to helping people with swaps/turbos/all motor builds etc. I think thats why this site should be like. This new section is a great idea, it helps people who actually tune there car to get help. Not the questions that are "Which intake will gimme best hp/sound".

Good Idea, just might be hard to keep the Noobs out.

+1000 I was thinking the same. As far as I know, Dan pretty much wrote what most of us use as the acceptable, safe, and powerful 60lb/hr injector tune, one of the first to use and tune meth injection, is setting a template for me for my twincharging project as well as 2 others, will probably be the first one here to turbo a 2.4 and tune it properly, and has more of his tuned cars trapping 106+ on street tires than anyone. Oh and he also is a GM engineer in training at the former GM Institute, Kettering University.

Ok, then he should be the mod. Does he get on here EVERYDAY? We need someone who is on everyday to... well moderate.

I think how about we combined a lot of thinking here only let: Seniors, Premiums (cause they did pay to support the site) and New Members by invite only how does that work?

lol u guys make me blush...I used to be on here hrs/day...since the incident I cut my hours back a lot. I feel this would give me a medium to help others and would keep me around the site more than I am now. All I do at work/school is surf here and at RL forums. Put the past in the past and spread the RIGHT knowledge.

I was thinking make it so everybody could read it and probably post BUT posts not belonging here would be removed immediately. Common Info about our applications and forum rules would be stickied to that top as well.

Just my thoughts

Dan
