Balance shaft removal? Electric water pump?

Hi Gents,
I've been doing some research on eliminating the balance shafts. Below are a few threads for reference. I have a few questions.

1) Is the GM racing kit still available (XGH676)? If so, where to buy?
2) If the GM kit is used does anyone make a bushing to block the front balance shaft bearing oil feed?
3) Has anyone here done either GM kit or Level Zero kit (retaining only the end of the balance shaft) and had any ill effects? I understand the vibration impact. I'm more curious about durability over time.

The next step would be an electric water pump. There are a few threads talking about it (in the Z22 link below it is talked about). My question is did anyone ever make a block-off plate for the factory water pump?

quick draw mcgraw!

I think I know what you mean, but are you sure about the inlet/outlet direction? Are you talking about putting a fitting on the end of the pump (inline with the axis of rotation) or with a block-off plate on the block (removing the pump)?

Anyway, I appreciate the comments, but you've sort of jumped over my questions. I'm looking for the GM racing kit and/or a block-off plate for the water pump. Any thoughts?

For those interested I was able to find the GM Racing balance shaft elimination kit. GM had 2 left in stock so I bought them both. I'm intending on keeping one as a spare, but if someone wants it bad enough let me know.

Now for the fun part of figuring out how to block all the balance shaft bearing oil feeds.

OTTP is selling the block off bushings, as well as Level Zero.

Thanks for the reply. I knew about the Level Zero option, but the OTTP has an internal thread to help install/removal.

As I understand it these are for the rear balance shaft bearings. What about the front bearings? Do I need to plug them as well?

the front bearings we just cut the shaft down and use the sprockets and the cut off nub in place of the shaft

can you post a picture of the block off plate?

I may be interested

It's not a block-off plate. It's a shorter chain and new chain guide. As you can see the new chain guide is attached in one of the balance shaft mounting holes. This means I need to plug the front bearings right?

My understanding is it was product of their racing department so they never made a full kit. They just sold the parts that needed tooling and figured buyers would figure it out.

If you're gonna go ewp, then just cut the balance shaft chain, remove it, and then that's it...... Plumb in your EWP and go

The reason for all this is I'm considering installing my scavenge pump where the stock water pump goes. This is why I want to move the water pump, but it means I would still need to drive something with the water pump chain.

The reason I want to do that is I don't have a lot of room around the engine to run the scavenge pump off the accessory belt, but an electric water pump can be mounted almost anywhere.

Not yet. I think I may have found a spot for my scavenge pump and I have enough work to get this thing running that I decided to wait.
