nope still a ton more **** to put in the car before the motor goes back in. hopefully have it out 2nd week of december, just started tearing into is this weekend.
cooling system comprises of the following though:\
3 cryo kits (4 spray bars 2 inline fuel coolers adapted for heat exchangers)
3 heat exchangers (as seen in pics)
emp wp29 water pump
2 stages of nitrous (55 shot pre blower 125 shot post)
meth injection with 3 5gph nozzles, 1 pre blower 2 post

motor is forged w/ drop in sleeves (some specialy blend used by the diesel racing guys designed for 150psi)
4340 rods, diamon pistons, nuetral balance shaft delete, stock head w/ supertech 75lb springs zzp stg2 sc cams
will be running the m62 again for a few months with a 2.6 pulley (overdrive ati balancer also)
spinning it to 8100+ rpm
exedy hyper single clutch (yes again)
aem 320lph e85 pump
back on the 79lb injectors for now
and I think that about covers the scope of work for this build
bad timing on my part with the holidays and lack of time for the build, but at least I have heat in the garage finally so I can work on both projects at any time

I'd like to see how much more wilder then what I'm running they are.
this should get interesting once I get the tvs back on the car. going to try and squeeze every ounce of power out of these setups I can.

there's a few more puzzle pieces I"m leaving out on the post above. but gonna make this m62 scream for now

Thanks for the laugh. I'll just leave you with this; seeing how he has a built trans am and is doing this build just because, do you think it matters one way or the other? Plus, spray isn't really harmful to your motor if you're tuned for it.

It'll do it. Should be able to eek out 400whp on boost only. It can be done.
How small a pulley are you planning on running with the TVS? With the 1000's you should be able to pulley down to around a 2.7 or even lower. Since you're bored, why not?

I say go for broke and wind this thing out to the 9500rpm just like your turbo swapped lsj back in the day.

sorry missed some posts in here. but car goes back together this weekend
and right now will be rocking the m62 til spring with a 2.6 pulley and the overdrive balancer and nitrous
under the headlight it's a derale cooler being chilled by the fan and a c02 spray bar, killer chiller is also getting mounte down there somewhere, starting to run out of room to cram stuff. primary nitrous bottle is going where the back seats used to be with the bottle valve between the driver and pass seats for now
when I get the tvs back on it will be with the 2.3 pulley for lolz.

Ok the 2.3 should make for some serious lulz. That should be well north of the 40psi mark. Hell, when I was on the 3.0 pulley I was mid 20's around 7500. TVS loved it up there too. Sadly I had no built head.

Wonder what your IDC's are going to look like since its corn fed. I am digging the sounds of this for shens build though. Very much.

running the aem 320lph for now with 79's with return on the m62, will be upping to a 450lph in tank and 160lb/hr injectors when the tvs goes back on. should hold me over for now.
really can't wait to get done with this cobalt nonsense so I Can start working on the race car again soon

we ran the 2.3 on advise's car and we were seeing somewhere around 34-36psi (gauge only went up to 30 so somewhere between the b-0 then between the 2 o's lol)
damn tvs screams like a banshee though with that little guy on it.

I bet it does. I wonder what kind of revs that thing was spinning that high. I will say, I loved the sound of the TVS. I only ran a 3.0 and a buddy is running my old TVS with a 2.9 and he's wound it out to 8000 on a dyno and it sounded like a damn jet. I could only imagine the 2.3

Funny you mention coming back to the cobalt because the WRX is a ticking time bomb for you. I'm leaving the cobalt world too though and going to the scoobie life. I'm thinking about going rotated and other goodies down the road.

I was in advises car for 10 pulls with the 2.3 and the sounds that blower made were something of lore lol. The rod coming out of the block noise was not as fun though.
As for the wrx thay goes under the knife in due time. Keeping it as is until the trans am is fully done. Then it gets a 2.7 stroker. Rotated kit with a 6262. Should be amusing with awd. But I am capping my cars/projects at 3 for a long time. Wrx was supposed to stay stock. Didn't even make it home from the dealer before I started messing with the tune lol.

But the transmissions in the STi's are something serious. That alone justified the price difference between a WRX and an STi for me.

2.7 stroker should be nice for that as well. I've not decided if I want to just throw forged pistons in the STi or if I want to save up and just build a short block from the ground up.

I hate the bug sometimes!

But now I'm getting off topic. Back to the because I'm bored build.

I concur the wrx is a boring car, short power band, but decent gearing and the sucker does 0-60 at 4.1 seconds with it's current setup and a 4700 rpm launch. rain hole shots are fun lol.

the price different between the sti and wrx is a bit ridiculous, but the sti has 3 lsd's compared to the 3 open diff's in the wrx, the trans is a plus, but the difference in strength ain't as much as it used to be. I like being able to hit 60 in 2nd gear as compared to 3rd for the sti. wrx's now have the legacy gt gears which are wider and a bit stronger then the old 5 speeds, which were made of glass lol.

but back to the cobalt, looking forward to hitting the garage tomorrow night after work, very much hoping to have the thing up and running saturday, probably still won't have everything wired up, but I need to be able to move the car, so that's my primary concern this weekend. once the motor is in and wired I'll get back to tackling the other stuff. should be a fun combo though, figure 310-330whp on blower and 450ish whp on spray for now.
