not bad man, been waiting years for someone to finally do something with these.
now if it will help from stripping 3rd gear, I'd be all for it.
haven't had a trans break on a launch yet, but 3rd gear rolls have been killers (have 3 broken f35's in my garage all did the same thing)

Thanks. I am hoping the case flex is at least partially to blame for 3rd and 4th gear failures. Only one way to find out. Still, those gears are weak because of the overall size of the grears combined with the tooth profile. However, WPC(micro shot peening) and cryo treatment of those gears should help. Combining those treatments with this brace, gives me high hopes 3rd and 4th gears failures will happen at a much higher tq value.

Update: appointment has been set for monday to have brace and bellhousing scanned for dimensions using a probe type cmm.

Furthermore, not only does this potion of the case flex, it also stretches permanently where the output bearing is pressed in. The more the case stretches causes more deflection between input and output gears. Because of this, I am also looking into output bearing sleeving options as this brace will not help deflection if case is already stretched beyond what I deem acceptable. But it will still prevent the case from breaking even if case is already stretched too far

I assume that's what happend to my f23 3rd gear. It shifts into the slot but just fin grinds like hell and won't catch.

Anybody interested in testing this out? I need a car that makes between 450-500wtq(must provide dyno sheet for my info so I can see your tq curve). I would only charge for rebuild costs, 3rd&4th gear cryo and WPC treatments( probably around 350$ extra for these treatments of 3rd & 4th). Free brace for being my guneia pig. Lower mileage trans preferred.

All that work, TWICE, and it's still ugly. Although dimension are ideal, which is all that matters. This is still not exactly what it will look like. There won't be any sharp corners and the OD will flow smoothly on the milled aluminum braces. Depending on how quickly I can get 2 made(one for me and one for higher tq testing) I may just a wait few extra days for final aluminum product to put in my trans.

For testing, yes I would like to see a basic tq vs hp curve dyno graph.

I have had some second thoughts on using 6061 because of the amount of torque it has to hold down from tightening 5th gear nut, not to mention the the output shaft wants to move upward towards 5th gear with forward torque due to the gears helical cut. Thanks for the suggestion. What are your thoughts on using 7075 alum?

I hav 3,190 mile F35 with LSD. No dyno graph yet but 550 is likely for a 4th gear pull.
