LNF Long block swap

Does anyone know if a 2.0 LNF longblock is able to be dropped in to an 09 pontiac g5 that currently has the 2.2, is the wiring harness the same? is the transmission mounting the same? i am very curious.

Depends on what trans you have. It will work but its not easy at all. All the wiring has to be swapped.

Do you think it would just be easier to pick up the forged pistons and rods and the 2.2 turbo kit? regardless i have to take off my head to replace the head gasket as it is slowly leaking oil...

You're essentially asking if it's easier to replace parts of an engine, or an entire engine and all of the wiring and probably a bunch of other bits.

How much time do you have? Both will take a considerable amount if you've never torn down a ecotec.

My vote is for build the 2.2 and put a turbo kit or a blower on it. Less likely to run into electrical gremlins that come with a full engine and harness swap.

I was asking the two different questions because i have to remove the block and head regardless of which one i pick to do but seeings as how the lnf would need many more modifications than id hoped i will probably just go with the new pistons/rods/valves ect. does anyone have a timeframe of how long taking the engine out opening it up replacing the parts and putting it back in would take?

All depends on how much time you put into it and what your knowledge base is.
