*UPDATE*
Had to remove the AC compressor BUT.......
Motor is now in the car and all trans/motor mounts are bolted onto it.
NO MORE NEED FOR ENGINE HOIST. YAY!!! lolz

Next step is plugging everything back in.
Wires, Exhaust, Intake, Drive Axels, ect.

Won't be long at all to complete those few things.

I'm excited as all hell to finally have a running Cobalt and on top of that I'm shooting for 280+whp.

*UPDATE*
Got Intake manifold onto the Cobalt and everything under it. All plugs and wires are accounted for and spots have been found for them. Install is going a lot smoother than expected. Only issue is figuring out the alternator/solenoid wires spots. Could use some help there, going to look for some wiring diagrams or tear into the Redline to see I expect a running car next Tues if funds allow for such an idea.

HAHAAH Love the Avatar !

Good Job on the swap so far ...... best of luck with the rest of the project.
BTW .... what kind of power were you making on your old setup? These cars are a load of fun when their in the 270-320 whp range .......... 40mph roll on burnout's in 2nd are addictive .

IMHO .....A 280 whp LSJ is comparable to a 300 whp lnf...... just because the way the powerbands of each motor differ. I'm sure it will be a blast.

Thanks!!!!

I was making about 250whp, but a combo of me being an idiot and a bad tune lead to a blown cyl. Not the cars fault at all, my mind making assumptions lead to its death.

I'm looking to be at AT LEAST 280whp on E85, hoping to reach 300whp and I'll do what I need to get there, but I won't go past that without selling the car and buying a rwd/awd car.

I agree, Supercharged show a linear graph with steady hp/tq levels. Turbo's tend to have a big difference in power between the rpms which the supercharger is solid almost a straight line of power to peak rpms.

I wouldn't twincharge. Seems I hear that all aftermarket headbolts can't handle it.

Car cranks but wont start.
A. Huge 80's now putting in too much fuel
B. Bad old gas

Gets tuned tomorrow. Ill drain tank and put E85 in for tuners arrival

It should run pretty decent, but still doubting you get your HP numbers with those Saab turbo cams in.
(Saab 207R 9.90mm lift vs. 10.04mm lift std LSJ...)

*UPDATE*
Draining old gas and dropping in some fresh E85 tonight. Gas is 4months old. I'm sure it doesn't like it at all after sitting through winter temps.

Tuner will be here in about 8 hours to have some good midnight tuning.

Everything is plugged in but one hose from the SC to the brake booster "I Think"

I appreciate all the support CSS.

I will get a video of it running and a few pulls. Dyno will be when I have funds available to do so.

Thanks,
Bratboy90

*UPDATE *
The car runs and drives. I got a tune thrown on in about a hour, just to get my to a gas station, get E85 in and get it to idle on E85 and drive.

My tuner worked in the morning and I'm missing the DP/Header gasket so its too leaky for WOT tuning.

Tuesday I should have my full tune finished.

But for tonight I drove to Taco Bell in my hardy idling Cobalt.

Video of it running in my garage BELOW
Super SAAB is ALIVE!!! - YouTube

More video's when a full tune is finished on Tuesday night.

Thanks,
Bratboy90

*Update*
Fixed exhaust leak. Was leaking at Header to DP. Got a new gasket and bolted it up nice and tight.
Hood is now on the car.
Been slowly filling the coolants as they bleed air out.
Have a belt squeak, I think its ZZP's shitty modular pulley being off by 1 rib. Will find a fix.
Otherwise, clutch feels nice and no leaks yet....

Tuesday night I get a full tune so I can go WOT.
I'm excited to see what E85 can do on this car.

would the LSJ head go good on the bottom end of b207r? or no good?

thinking buying a b207r motor for cheap using the bottom end and Building/swaping my LSJ head on it for more power. Any issues would i run into swapping the head?

is this worth the swap or did u have alot of headaches?

Honestly I'm pretty sure it would be ok to do. Shouldn't be too many headaches. But you might as well just do a straight swap. You'd have to look into it a bit more if your going to try using an LSJ head.

*UPDATE*

Car runs, starts, and drives like a ******* DREAM.

I'm happy with where it got to. Took about 3 hours of tuning to get it working near perfect. Some little tuning left. Camshaft position needs to be relearned, but my tuner will deal with another day. I have a 70% boost in 1st and I spin clear through it and 2nd without issue. Lots of fun.

Virtual Dyno says I'm at 274whp/233wtq. Car is looking good. I'm tuned at 25degrees of timing on my 3.0 Pulley with E85. Feels Epic!!! Glad to have a running car once again.

OH AND VIDEO OF SOME PULLS VERY SOON!!!!

FOR NOW THIS VVVVVVVVVVV CobaltSS.net People Watch Till The VERY END
