regular ballasts are big and slims are tiny. There plenty of places to mount HID's in this car so Slim ballasts arent necessary, but im sure they would be easier to work with. I have 2 regular size ballasts mounted. Im sure if you had a motorcycle with HID's slim ballasts would be necessary for you

^win. I got a set of 2ng gen's yesterday for free, so now i have 2 sets of 2nd gens that im not using, 1 of them needs a lens though, but I have parts to make 1 good working set of 2nd gens. Im thinking about trying to retrofit them and sell them. Cause well all know how much failure the lowbeam is. you know what would be a good retrofit setup for a 2nd gen wanted, you know alot about that ****

By 2010 headlights, you mean the stock Cobalt ones that come on every car? Ya it sucks that we don't have OEM projectors, but that's what happens in economy cars. If you want some projectors, the main options are listed on the first page. They all are pretty much plug and play, HIDs kits you install are as well. The best option (and what I recommend) are retrofits. Many members on here make them and they will come with hids installed, but they aren't cheap. The best option I can give are the ones from buyhids.com, which are shown on the first page. They are plug and play retrofits with HIDs ready to go for $400. That's about the best deal you can get, unless you really like the aftermarket ones, which are cheaper, but the quality is no where near as good.

Retrofits... so can somebody give me a break-down on the process for them? Do you take projectors and anything else, from outside sources and put them into the stock housings? Is that how theyre made, sold? Could you do it with Gen 3 housings/headlight kits? Or do you get the retrofits in their own housings (stock housings?) all set-up and sent to you? What's the cheapest way to go retrofit?
Is buyhids.com the best place for them?

Clarification on these options, from what I read and what I'm interested in...
Option 1: You get the housings with everything - stock housings, right?
Option 3: You mail your stock headlights and they retrofit it for you, then just have to hook them up back in, plug n' play...
Option 5: You get all the material sent to you, so you can do it yourself, or have it done professionally - again, into your stock housings
Is that correct?

One of the best projectors out there are any of the Acura lines, but specifically the TSX projectors from the previous generation. If you get the clear lens swap on them, it couldn't be any more perfect.
Don't go any higher than 5k on the kelvin scale since the "blue" that everyone desires for some reason isn't from the bulb itself, but from the projector. You're going to need D2S bulbs.
The only reason people go higher on the K scale in halogen housings to get the "cool" blue look is simply bc the bulb itself is open and doesn't have the beam pattern from a projector to give you the look you're going for in a true HID application, hence people going higher up the kelvin scale, having light scatter all over the place and then wondering why they can't see at night during the rain.
Example of my projector I'm currently using:
Color Lense Mod:
OEM Tsx projector:
