Dont do it! That is an instant void of your warranty. Most likely you will get a airbag light come on too. Dont mess with anything to do with the airbag.

Ya, it would void the warranty on maybe your stock steering wheel...?

I would not worry about the warranty but I would be worried about the lack of a airbag. If you do it be sure to wear your belt.

If I were to put a racing steering wheel in, I'd also be sure to put in racing sets with 4 point racing harnesses for safety....that's just what I would do though. A normal seat belt will not help that much in a crash without an airbag. I guess, it WILL stop you, but so will the steering wheel after you slam your face on it.

Nobody knows because nobody has done it. I suspect it is a pain in the ass. Post if you get it done though, because I would like to do it some day.

HOLY THREAD REVIVAL! Instead of starting a new one? Anyone have any info or pics of aftermarket steering wheel in a cobalt. With respect to steering wheel controls, i dont care about the radio side, replaced stock headunit, lost controls of the radio, oh well, i will just reach down. Cruise is a problem tho. Is there a way to retain cruise with an aftermarket wheel?

i doubt it unless you remove the button and relay from the oem wheel and relocate that harness somewhere

I have contacted Grip Royal about their steering wheels. Of course it would have to be a custom adaptor haha. Other than their steering wheels I haven't seen any I really like

yah it s a little expensive, just using it as an example. IIRC Royce used a black and red wheel form a Solstice.
