Any modifications needed to fit this or are the tabs in place to mount on the stock bumper slots

no sorry it doesnt use oem tabs it would have to be screwed on as well as panel bond/double sided tape

It looks like a great product but having to go through all that aggravation to put this thing on is just not my cup of tea, don't get me wrong here it just would be so much easier as far as overall installation if it were exactly like oem.

gotcha and makes sense! i had one on my old cobalt ss and i had custom bodyshop install it and only took around an hour or so

i had one on my old car and had a custom body shop install it using double sided tape and screws

it doesnt use the oem gm tabs
