I had a hard time getting my color so I was asking a guy at the dealership and he told me to go to a car paint center and give them my code and they could mix me up some. So I got a pint for like 15 bucks and for 8 bucks I got reusable air can/aerosol can.
@reign1: PPG3800 you can go into any car paint shops and ask them to mix you up a can of this color. Make sure before they mix it up to tell you the name of the color that came up. Best thing to do though is the get the color code from your car.
@dunit121: Man you got the easiest color....A gloss black in a spray can will do for what your doing. In your headlight housing your only going to see black.

There is a sticker, I think it's in the trunk on cobalts, and it will have a bunch of three digit codes. You need to find the one that ends in the letter U. If you look on page onn of this thread, the host kindly posted the 3 digit codes for each color. It comes in handy to use for cross reference.

Yea, I like the touch up paint. It comes in handy, except after the first use, the ball on the tip stopped working. I've tried dipping it in mineral spirits for a few minutes to loosen it up, but nothing. Brush in lid ftw.

Possible newb question here, but her goes. Would this stuff work on the engine plastic in my 2.2L 2LT or would I be better getting some other type of paint? I have Silver Ice Metallic and I know the paint code is on the first page of this forum. I just want to know if this stuff will handle the engine heat or should I look in to some other type of paint?

As stated there is a sticker in the trunk with a lot of numbers. Look at the bottom left area and you will see bc/cc then a the code is after that. Black on GM is 8555 and usually you will see 3 digits with a letter after it my trailblazer is the red tintcoat and is 391e, but if you go to a paint store they guy mixing it will go show you in your trunk and get a aerosol can and you have perfect match much better than a dealer rattle can unless you have black like me then any gloss black will match it.
Look for.the bc/cc letter they stand out at the bottom away from the cluster of other numbers.
Anyone who needs help get me the name and yr pm me is and I can look it up during the day in the dupont chip books I have at work or on the computer I use to mix.

I no longer work for GM and can't get part numbers anymore.
Heres all the colors for our cars and the spray can part #'s so you can order them from any GM dealer.
BLACK (41U).............................12345119
OLYMPIC WHITE (50U)...............12345205
VICTORY RED (74U)..................12345539
YELLOW (34U)...........................12346642
LT TRNISH SILVER (67U)...........12346694
CASMERE MT (15U)...................12346726
EMERALD JEWEL MET (38U)........12346798
LASER BLUE MET (21U)..............12346786
SUNBURST ORANGE MET (56U)...12346722
ARRIVAL BLUE MET (91U)...........12346648
MAJESTIC AMETHYST MET (84U)..12346219
ULTRA SILVER MET (95U)............12345305
PACE BLUE (20U).......................88860746
SPORT RED MET (29U)................12346746
Now these are the color names but I would STRONGLY suggest you double check your paint code against the (--U) next to the color to be sure you ask for and order the CORRECT color! GM does change names but paint codes never change, always go by the paint code even if it has a different name. Again paint names can change from year to year and model to model but paint CODES DO NOT!
Note: these are 5oz. cans of color matched paint from GM, not aftermarket! These are the absolute closest you will ever get to matching your cars color.
Any questions?
