How do you take that front license plate holder off!?

I wanted a different front plate holder. I bought a black metal one with smokey tint glass to protect the plate.
With the stock plate holder it won't go on. My buddy had his cover only bolted on with 2 bolts on bottom and it flapped down and looked really stupid.
What I did was take tin snips and cut around the edges where the place slides in so its just the black backing. Then I put two holes in the top. Bought 4 black bolts and put them on with the cover and it looks okay. I haven't been able to put on the black cover part because the bolts don't fit in it properly so I have to either find smaller heads on the bolts or grind it down a bit.
I will post a picture when i'm done.
Here is what I did last night. I removed the dealer logo and the chev symbol from back and got rid of the stupid dealer plate cover.
Before shot
Here is what I planned on doing to the front

I'll post afters later today

It's super bright outside so the camera didn't do to well. I just waxed the car. When it's a bit darker I will take a normal picture hopefully.
