MVP'S OFFICIAL LE5/LSJ 2.4 Dyno Numbers

Well I'm pretty happy with the out come of my first dyno run. the dyno used was a dynapac dyno. (load type dyno that bolts directly to the hub of the wheel.) the car put down 262 WHP @ 6,300 RPM and 248 WTQ @ 4055 RPM. This was done on a 3 inch zzp pully at 10 PSI on 91 OCT. Unleaded. my WOT AFR was 11.7 : 1 pretty much all the way through the PE period. all pulls were made in 4th gear. The the timing was increased by 16 Deg. in all over the stock GM Stage II timing. I'm going to go back once I get the 2.5 inch pully on and the Alchy Injection. I'm confident that with those additions I will be above 300 WHP. I'm aslo confident that once I perform my turbo swap the car will make 400 WHP AND THEN SOME PROBABLY. I will post the dyno sheets as soon as I can scann them.

They do I did a LE5 bottom end with the LSJ top end. and the SS S/C has the same motor as the REDLINE we were out first.

so at that pulley size is equivalent to stage 2 right?

so you make around 30whp more than an LSJ on that same pulley size

Wow, nice to hear Mike. You should be able to put down pretty decent numbers with even the stock blower let alone your future turbo setup with the lower pressure ratio you need now.

Also nice to hear the crank reluctor ring swap went well. Did it CASE learn ok afterwards?

I'm glad its finished, I mean getting the motor and all the pieces in there. Now, the fine tuning begins.

pretty similar numbers to a stock 2.4 supercharged with a 3" pulley, because a 2.4 s/c with a 3" is pushing around 11psi. I think Beck got 256/236.

I got alot less compression then a stock 2.4. yes i said it correctly LESS compression .

we actually pushed the car harder then that and the TQ numbers approached the 300 mark and the WHP was around 280+ but it was knocking bad. so with the 2.5 oully and meth im going back and im going to tune again and run her.

to be honest I never performed the case learn the dealership did and im assuming that it worked. il go out and try it later with HPT to be honest I think theres an issue with HPT and thier case learn feature for vehicles fitted with ETC.

Ah, yeah that was more what I was asking, if they did it and it worked.

I'm fairly certain that HPT can't on an ETC vehicle either.

Yeah and they dont seem too interested in fixing it though.

BTW I wanted to get your oppinion on this there were many points throught my time on the dyno that the car would be at an idle and commanding a 14.7 :1 AFR and then all of the sudden it would just command a 10.0 :1 AFR and the car would change its idle pitch but not die. what gives? neither myself or the tuner could come up with any solutions as to why this was occuring. the guy who was rnning the dyno and tuning me up his name is george george aka 12secss on the hp tuner forums. he said, that he was going to send a copy of my log file and tune to HPT and see what keith though. maby theres some issues that HPT dont know about.

I'm actually going to go over to the HPT forum and post this up as well. there you will be able to look at my logs and tell me what you think. if you need a copy of my tune ill share it with you but i want to send it via email and i would ask that you don't share this tune with anyone else. I dont want it tossed around like a 2 dollar hooker. lots of time and money spent to treat it like a public rest room.

I'll take a look at it over there.

I've seen some weird **** with commanded afr. A local GTO owner had an issue with it commanding 16-1 randomly during cruise. Here disabling the rear o2 (post cat) sensors would trigger lean cruise into turning on even though its perma-disabled in the OS.

Any pending DTCs may be doing it as well. Something like slow o2 switching or maf/map voltage errors may cause a default rich condition to be commanded.

ahhh I see though my rear o2 isnt deleted perminate in the os i do have it turned off and the cot protection set sohigh that it wont go into cot protection because i dont have a cat.

Nice! I have a similar setup, except le5 top and bottom. I was a little worried about the compression being too low but i'm very happy to see it wont be.

still sounds like COT... setup the 'status bit' and make sure. COT is horrible and will randomly come on if not disabled "correctly"...

if you have a LE5 head your compression ratio will be different then mine.
