EFILive can. Hptuners cannot.

The words "speed density" caught my eye on the front page new posts thing.

A lot of local tuning shops own EFILive if they tune GMs.

Isn't a speed density system using the MAF and MAP sensors together?

:edit: Brain fart. See below.

I tuned his car MAF only and disabled the MAP blending into the fueling calculations with HPTuners. Pretty much how an LSJ's PCM is setup from the factory.

Speed density is air metering using the map sensor. Uses engine speed (speed) and manifold pressure and air temperature (density) to calculate how much air the engine is ingesting.

There are a bunch of V8 guys tuning SD with the E67 pcm, can't see why 2.4 guys couldn't use our system with their E67 pcm.

Can't log cam angle.

2.4's have 4 variables in their VE (engine speed, map, intake cam angle, exhaust cam angle).

Is that something we can't log & they can? If so you might consider posting in our feature request section.

Nope. Its been posted and supposedly you guys were supposed to come out with a custom OS that allows the "dumbing down" of the VE for the newer PCMs. I think initially its not even supporting the VVT guys until the cams can be logged.

EFILive is able to make cam and 32 bit VE calculations on the fly. They have an article on their homepage about it.

If you are wanting to preserve the original MAP-MAF blending on a 2.4L LE5 I would say yes assuming your tuner knows how to fix any VE related discrepencies. Otherwise it doesn't matter imo.

It might be in the future but even then it will take a custom OS to do it.

Has anyone actually tuned a 2.4 cobalt in SD using their system?

Stock LE5 ECMs use two sensors to build two fueling models. One is established via MAF and the other via MAP. Ultimate fueling is a blend of the two. With HPTuners you can tune the MAF and disable the MAP. With EFILive you can tune both just like the stock ECM is setup to do.

Theres at least one person, I'll see if I can dig up his post.
