2008 Autocrossing plans

Hey Conekillers....

Well, for some in the south and west , Solo season has arrived. For the rest of us, we have only weeks before the carnage begins.

What are some changes that you've all made for the upcoming season?

What are your plans and/or goals for this year??

Me....

1) Since I'm staying in D-stock again, I upgraded and installed the Konis over the weekend. They make a big difference even in street driving..

2) After discussion with many in the offseason, Ive decided to go with a staggered tire setup... using 245/40-18s up front and 225/40s in the back. The car likes to put heat in the front, so this will give some better meat to dispurse the temps... as well as a bigg contact patch for the diff-less setup.

3) I'm doing my 1st Pro Solo event, but not in the SS ( see other thread abotu that )

4) Will do at least 1 national Tour and the Nationals in the fall. Even have a tire warmer setup for that now.

5) furthe develop both MY driving and the cars' setup and see just how much better i can finish this year over last.

Hope you all had a great off-season and are as anxious as me to get back out there.

Coilover suspensions?

Does anybody know what the rules are pertaining to coilover suspensions? My suspension is getting a little worn out. I have an '05 LS, and I'm currently racing in STS due to a doh, and I'd like to stay there. Would a coilover suspension disqualify me from the STS class? I looked through the rules, but I'm not sure how that works. If it does disqualify me, I'll probably get a set of sportlines and the Koni strut inserts.

Well right now my the NEPA season starts on April 20th, I already have my 16's and Hankook Ventus RS2's mounted and ready to go. I am in the process of ordering a sway bar, and installing trans mounts. This season is going to be fun! I can't wait to start playin with the Rex's (WRX for those who don't know ) in STX. I am taking the title this year.

Coilovers are all well and legal in any of the ST classes.

Soltice vs Miata not a fair fight but then again who really cares about that.
The Z0K Package is the way to go from the Factory...unless your planning mods over and above.

Ohhhh OK Jim...

So... they put a base SOL with ZOK in CSP??? What is the base model without go into??

The GXP Z0K would maybe go into CSP as well I would guess... since it would get swallowed whole in ASP and BSP...

Well, the the Z0K is actually in CS is well in the base model. That's the only way to fly if you want to win in CS with a solstice.

The GXP ( regardless of the Z0K option ) is an AStock car with the S2000

guess the guys are running them in whatever class they want down here. two came out last year(one was a gxp and the other had the z0k option) and i believe they ran in csp. good to know though that the z0k can run in cs. the only downside is the oem size wheels, id like to get some 17x10 wheels for racin.
