I still kind of have the same question. Whenever this subject is mentioned, some how it drifts into something that has nothing to headers. I think it would be good if everyone told what kind of header they had and how it shifted their powerband in their Balt. For example " I have a ( fill in the blank ) and I felt a pretty good gain or loss in the Lower, Middle, Upper RPM range and it is Good quality or Bad quality. If everyone could answer that then people could just look at the thread and decide what they want.

your question is vague because we have no idea what mods you have or what you want to accomplish. There are a lot of different headers and it depends on what you are doing.

If you are completely stock and want a little more juice, then go with the GMPP extruded honed exhaust manifold.

there are quite a few variables though, are you going to upgrade the rest of your exhaust. things like that.

different style headers will give you different kind of gains, mainly where the torque curve moves to. that's why kano suggested you search. decide what you're after then make an informed decision.

Not going into velocity and resonance, here is a good rule of thumb for you.

Longtube Header = low end power

Midlength Header = midrange power

Shorty Header = high end power

LOL, yeppers. few more weeks and the install will be complete. The next step will be how to go about controlling the fuel. DTP doesnt want to use the AEM f/ic but im pretty much telling them if they want my money they will use it. lol

i noticed a small power difference from the header when i was at a 40-45 roll. accelled a bit faster then before i had the header.

viberent makes one, pace setter makes one, and OBX. not sure who else

oh, and im spraying too!!!

xCobalt05x any place U notice where the header seemed to die down a bit?

On my 2.0 I got the Vibrant... and down low it didn't feel as good... but up top! I felt it more up there...

Did u feel the OBX fall flat anywhere?

I think the reason for the Vibrant not feeling as strong down low is because of the size of the collector. Its great for the 2.0, but obviously the 2.2 isn't moving as much air.

Yea I figured as much. The OP is my lil bro and I'm tryin to figure this all out with him for the 2.2

The reason I got the Vibrent for my ss is because of the size of the whole thing...

For him, i know he'd wanna keep it no bigger then 2.5 I just donno whats out there for the 2.2 Ive spent 99% of my time doing/talking/learning/researching the 2.0

He was gunna get the pacesetter.... but I donno what heppend with that or if there even good enough to get. That OBX header in the pic looks sweet.

I believe the OBX header is actually a knock-off of the pacesetter. At least thats what I recall TTR saying. For the price, I would go with the pacesetter and buy the CED downpipe designed for it. I think that would be a good price to power ratio.

Can you post a link for that? I have never been able to find a downpipe designed for the pacesetter, especially from CED.

CED = Crate Engine Depot
Exhaust Depot makes a downpipe for the Pacesetter Header
Here's the link:

He said CED, i just wanted him to show me what he was talking about since I had never seen one from CED. Thanks for the link, his memory was jsut a smidge off.

But since its doesn't have a cat, its useless for me.

I swear I'm not crazy! I saw it somewhere! lol

Maybe you could have a local exhaust shop fabricate you one by adding a cat to the one from the link above.

I have header back LSJ exhaust and I felt a gain all across the RPM range and it is Good quality simply because its stock GM. Not to mention my gas mileage jumped about 1.5 mpg
