they will settle a bit, with stock 215/45r18s the fronts tuck.

curious to know, for those with h&r race springs, do you guys get a vibration under heavy load??? im thinking my vibration is caused by the extreme driveline angle from this large a drop. i have a fix in mind however im not 100% sure if its because of the driveline angle or just the urethane mounts

i have a base g5 with 215/45/18 tires and want to get sportlines. the h&r are 2.0/1.6 and the sportlines are 2.0/2.5. i dont want the front tires to tuck because i live in michigan and the roads/winters are shitty. ive seen a lot of balts/g5's with 18's lowered on sportlines but they have 225/40 tires. i know there is only a .2 inch difference in the radius between a 225/40 and a 215/45 but some look too close and some look like there is plenty of clearance. im so confused. i dont want to lower my car and find out my tires are too tall and run into clearance issues. sorry for kinda jacking the thread. any input?

i now run 225/40r18 bfg kdw2 with no clearance issues. the tire is a tad wider but a little shorter in overall height. no clearance problems at all.

the H&R race is a 2" front an 1.6 rear. My front tires are 40's and Rears are 45's. Yess i get a vibration under excel. but when im just rollin down the hightway or anywhere it doesnt viberate. if you come up with a fix let me know

Try replacing the sway bar end links. I had the same "shutter" under heavy acceleration and I also had a clunk which sounded like a blown strut. I replaced the end links and presto.....no more shuttering and no more clunking!

na i dont have a clunk (i know what bad swaybar links act like) and the links are tight.

the vibration is directly load related. say im in 3rd gear and 50km/h (30mph) and step on it, it vibrates very bad. now if i go from a roll in first gear, or drop a gear or 2 and pin it, its not nearly as bad, im thinking in that situation thre is enough weight transfer to the rear of the car the front end pulls up a little and flattens the axles out a touch. under hard load, i think it gets worse because the motor torques back making the driveline angle worse. i have urethane mounts in it however ive had them in other cars and never had vibrations like this, it litterally shakes the steeringwheel

my fix for it it to rotate the motor forward by making custom mounts. if i make the diff higher it flattens out the driveline angles.

sharkey....... your problem is when ur springs were installed the little tabs that are on the struts were not aligned right...... go take a look, you'll see what i mean......

better yet......... just chick this out

The springs alone caused that?

Sharkey is correct, it's the issue of the driveline angle.

My SSC springs do it as well.
