Um where did they get this info on the S/C SS:
"The 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt SS uses up just 5.8 seconds accelerating to 60 mph, and it goes through the quarter-mile in 14 seconds flat at 103 mph. This is a night-and-day improvement over the supercharged Cobalt SS, which couldn't break 7 seconds for 60 mph and ran a 15.2-second quarter at 95.6 mph."
That is a pretty crappy 0-60 time for the SS S/C.

But stock I was able to get a 6.0sec 0-60 and and I know plenty of people on here have gotten mid 14 seconds and lower stock.
I hate it when respected informists give false information. Simply because they are exactly what I said, "respected". As if people out there weren't missinformed enough about our cars. Now we're gonna have ricers telling us our cars are REALLY slow. And we all know there are a few ricers that drive cobalts, so I know it's only a matter of time till we have to put a few cocky '08 SS owners in their place.
that article made me sad about having a ss/sc, i love my car and i just like the fact that i have a supercharger and not alot of people can say that, those numbers are def wrong, i hit a 14.6 1/4 when my car was stock and I never drag raced before.
yup car and driver has tested the ss/sc from 0 to 60 in 5.9 seconds and 1/4 at 14.3. were they they get 7 sec fromand 15.3 from. that means the new civic si are quicker than ours. they probaby do this on purpose. they just hating on our supercharged cars.
With an SS/SC you have to be able to drive to make it perform to it's potential....
Edit:
So throw the phrase 'driver race' out the window... cause the computer is pretty much taking care of the hard part...
Nah... it just means that any fool can drive an SS/TC to it's maximum due to the launch control and no-lift shift....

Here is the email i sent to Edmunds, i'll let you know if i get a response.
Where did you get the numbers for the 2007 cobalt ss supercharged? 15.2 1/4 mile and couldn't break 7 seconds 0-60? Other reviews out there got 14.4-14.6 1/4's and 5.9-6.1 0-60 times posted , those numbers are closer to the norm, with your numbers being the exception. Your numbers sound closer to SS/NA performance figures.
I love this quote:
"To ensure the clutch has a shot at surviving the five-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty period, the GMPD engineers tell us that they installed the largest, most robust clutch that would possibly fit and even downsized the flywheel to accommodate it. The engineers also did 600 launches on a single test car to verify their work. "
