chrome lip repair??

what can i do to repair the chrome lip on my wheels? they all have curb rash but its not real deep.. just all scratched up and one is startin to rust.. is there anythin i can do to fix em other than send em off to be refinished?

Get some 800, 1000, 1500, 2000 grit sand paper and a high quality liqiud polish? If they are actually chromed, not sure.

thats what i was thinkin bout doin but i wasnt sure if that process would work on chrome or not.

are you sure they arent just a polished aluminum? i think most wheels have a polished aluminum lip, not chrome

What i said was for polished aluminum. If you sand the scratches out of each grit with wetsanding... it's like a mirror almost chrome but not plated.

I fixed mine by doing that method and they turned out pretty good. Gunna have the face re-powder coated though.

What kind of wheels do you have? They kinda look like driftz wheels, if that is the case, driftz have a stainless steel chrome plated ring, i don't think you will get out curb rash.

Yeah... he is right, the Driftz are chrome plated.... nothing you can do but replate them

yeah thats the wheels i have. they are the r1 drift.

well that sucks.. i guess i'll just get new wheels then.. havin em sent off will end up costin to much..
