I'd go with the BFG's.

I had those KDW2's on my last car- un-effin-believable! I almost rolled the damn car once because the tires gripped so well that my suspension couldn't handle it.

editted to add-

BFG doesn't make KDW2's in 18s. I didn't notice if you were running smaller wheels or not, but I thought I'd give you a heads up on that. I already looked into it.

Those don't compare to either of the 2 choices. Besides the nt555(or whatever the number is) is a better tire.

06Black, are you looking for a good drag tire or all around performence??? I would go with the Alzenis if you want to hook a bit better and the KDWs for all around.

Taken from link... "The g-Force T/A KDW-2 tires feature subtle black letter styling and will initially be available in selected sizes. Sizes will expand throughout the year to include 60-, 55-, 50-, 45-, 40-, and 35-series, V- and Z-speed rated sizes for 17" to 24" wheel diameters."

They don't make ANYTHING good in our stock size...it sucks.

As for the tires, I say go with KDWs if you've got the money for them.

I found them on tirerack. You can either get them in 225/45/18 or 235/40/18. I would probably go wider if I was buying new tires. I hate the 215 width. Here you go.

DAMN!! THAT IS AWESOME. Three months ago I checked tirerack- nothing. Talked a guy I know that works at a tire shop into calling BFG for me, they even told him they didn't make them in 18. That Rocks!!!

Thanks for the link. I'm going to go with 215/45-R17s, probably Azenis. I hate 18" wheels on the car for auto-x, 17s would be much better.

I was looking into 235/40/18s in the KDWs...it says the wheel width range it will fit is 8"-9"...isn't the stock rim 7.5". I know you can sometimes fit them on rims outside the range but I was just wondering if maybe that would cause a problem with the KDWs.

I saw that. Our time is actually 18x7. That is what is stamped on the inside of my rim. However, I have heard of guys that are running with 235's and have no big sidewall bulge. Says that turning is great. I was concerned at first about that size until he told me about his great results with the tire.

You're sure he has the KDWs?????? If it's 18x7 I won't go with the 235 KDW. I know some 235 tires may be fine, but I wouldn't put KDWs on a rim that was more than .5" +/- what was recommended by the manufacturer. You're still changing the shape of the tire by sqeezing it onto a smaller rim than it was designed to fit. Maybe I'll go with the 225s instead.

He had goodyear F1 GS-D3's on his. They were 235/40/R18 for sure. I asked him if the side wall rolled over the rim and he said no. I was worried as well to go that wide on this rim.

225/45/17 is a better size to use over the 215/45/17

ive got the azenis sports the old model to those , and ive got close to 30,000 miles on them and they still arent to the wear bars yet , ive known people that got alot less , but they either raced alot more or didnt align their cars

the only bad things i can say about the tire , the side wall is stiff and you feel it on less than nice roads , and for drag racing they kinda suck cause they dont get soft enough when hot

i love them other wise , the bfg's are a great choice also , and might be my next tires , since i want the slightly softer side wall

oh i love them! they give really good dry traction....and wet traction is phenominal but when the outsides of the tire wear faster that they should (due to taking the twisties at high speeds....alot) they dont shed water as easily, but the tread pattern is bitchin' and the tractions pretty good....they heat up real easy too.

the bfg have better tread life than the falken but they are a little bit noisy.Falken 615 are rated like race tire so forget about it after the summer even the mid summer
