Damn, that's a big difference. If the GT-R wasn't so overrated and such a bandwagon car, I might actually like it

Don't bother. The stock exhaust is so quiet, you can't hear it over the dyno rollers

It made 430 whp and 425 wtq. They only added 15% for drivetrain loss, even though AWD sucks on average 25%.

So 430 whp and 425 wtq + 25% for drivetrain loss = 573 hp and 566 ft-lbs

Keep in mind, its rated at 480 hp (crank) from the factory

I think it will be in the mid 500's. 600 whp is 750 at the crank. Thats a crap load of power!!!

While its true the GTR is an awesome performer it has a SERIOUS problem! Its ugly, and no matter how blisteringly fast assed it is it will never ever be able to outrun its looks. Its a shame IMO that Nissan couldn't have made it more in line with the R34 styling cause they'd have an instant winner!

Now the other problem is its reported only like 1500 cars a year will be built so don't expect to EVER find one at its MSRP cause the dealers are gonna butt **** you to get one.

Actualy not so. From the tests I've read its more like its equal then its superior. And also from what I've read the back seat is little more then decorative since its so small on the leg room, but it does have a trunk so in that respect yes its better then the ZR1. Beyond that the test #'s are sooooooo close its a serious drivers race.

although i agree the gtr34 looked better..i dont see the point in making a car look like the one before...like people who own c5 corvettes then buy a c6..they arent that much different....waste of money IMO

The RB26DETT is an amazing engine. So far ahead of its time! They talk about the LSJ having oil squirters now, yet the RB26 had them back in the 80s!!!! Also the engine, is still easy to work on. I'm in the process of reassembling my friends RB26, it goes just as fast normal engines, if not faster, due to good placement of bolts and such, so everything is easy to get at. Nissan really is a bunch of crazy *****!

Here's the thing folks:

The GTR is aweome out of the box. The ZR1 is basically a detuned engine for people who want the looks that people who want the actually performance already know how to get it out of (much like the GT500) will get out of it. Honestly, there are 6.2L third gen engines that are putting out 620 horses without a power adder.
