I have a 05 Cobalt Sedan LS and i am wanting to get some summer rims for it and also drop it with the pro kit. Now I am not looking to make thing thing all performance prov jsut intake and exhaust eventually but Should i put 18s or 17s with the pro kit? any rudding with 18s or no? let me know your thoughts thanks

Me personally, i love the look of 18's, although most people here are probably going to tell you go with the 17's. It's much cheaper all around, and you have a much better selection on tires..so ive heard...(i havent looked yet

18's IMO really flow with the look of the cobalt.

im still debating on wat size to get 17 or 18, my car came with the 17's which are nice and only weigh 40 pounds a piece with tires, but i think that 18's may provide more traction which may benefit the launch at the 1/4 mile track. anyone know which rims would be better for 1/4 mile? im more interested in performance then looks ...

If you want better performance, go with lightweight 17s. I tend to like 17s in general but for me, performance is important. If you're not worried about performance, then by all means go with the 18s.
celicacobalt, 17s are better and as light as you can get them. Essentially you're reducing the rotational mass of the wheels and giving yourself less unsprung weight. You rims have nothing to do with traction, the tires are what gives (or doesn't give) you traction. Wider tires might help due to a larger contact patch, but as far as the rims, smaller and lighter is generally better.

I think 18s will rub...
eekkk i didnt notice you had a sedan.... That will be, uh, interesting I guess...
which ever wheel size you get plan on lowering because it will sit much higher; this will also help with wheel well gap.
I personaly would go with a nice all dark colored 17's, especially with a black car!
