a little over a grand.... gasket kit, new sleeves, new pistons, and lots of new bolts (most are toque to yield)... and a lot of manual labor

i boosted over 20psi, and went rich... washed the cylinder walls. then leaned out and melted down the piston... the other three pistons were cracked too.

What compression ratio are those new pistons ya got??

looks kinda like someone wants to boost up their car again, and/or run a little nitro?

i have no idea on the power right now... but with my 2.6 pulley 60# injestors, rebuilt ported blower and intake mani, fujita F5 intake custom full exhaust (-header) and methonal injection oh and dual by pass valve.... i would guess 300 ish or so... at the wheels

yeah GM sells stock replacements...

i got the 9.5:1 no point in uping the compression.... it makes me nervious to do that... the risks can be high on doing that with a high boosting car.

oh and i will be boosting past 20psi again after the build and breakin

i hope the rods will take more then 350... 400 hp would be nice... but if you know or find out fill me in.

i was looking at the head the otherday and was pricing out doing a port polish, 3 angle valve job, and a set of cams, with valve terrian upgrade... but its not in the budget right now... i got some things i want to do to my truck and i just dumped thousands in my car over the winter... so that will be on phase 2 of the engine build... later this summer... along with head studs and some other little things....

Love. Love. Love. The paint job. Can't wait to see it done.

Why didn't you go with Darton Sleeves and did you sleeve the block yourself?

ok so i have had the car driving/breaking in for about 4-5 days.... i waited for a good 600 miles before getting on it a lil... the computer is still tuned down and the boost cuts out at about 18psi... for the break in time... once broken in i will be pushing about 25psi. but when i was getting on it last night i instanly fucked the clutch... its not shot. but it slips bad... i think my car boosts to hard and to fast for the stock clutch. i checked it for leaks but its clean... i am gonna bleed the clutch to see if i got air in the lines... but i dont see how i would have. it just feels real funny when i launch it... and when i get on it the RPMs jump up then they fall down a lil and then i take off... and no, i am not burning out. even cruising at 55mph in 5th if a push the throttle down more the RPMs jump up then fall back down...

so i am looking into the centerforce DFX clutch.
