Nellis Autocross...

Hey this was an awesome track, really long and gave everyone a good two minutes of driving time a piece. The clear differences in horsepower were made apparent, and I was running in a class I really wasn't competitive in but chose to compete anyways. I ran my cobalt with wheels, tires, cai and ss springs in the STS class. I had fun competing with these people and it was a great track.
Watching the gt40 run was making me cream my pants..

Now for my gripes....
We had like 30 or 35 cars in our heat running, but when our time came to do the stations, there were only 12 of us out there. A counted 12....when it was about 5 mins before our cars were on, the people all went to go stand by their cars, about 20 or so people.... I am incredibly disappointed at the SCCA for handling this, after their autocross at Primm they said they would warn the people who didn't work once and then reject them from the next autocross if they did that again. They didn't even say anything about it at the closing speech. I think that is total bullshit.

My first Run I got red-flagged, and I asked them at the end about a rerun he said "didnt you get one?" and I said no, he said normally in that situation I would get one because the red flag wasn't my fault but " they were already an hour later than their scheduled time for closing"

And I got a bad sunburn

&#&#^#(#(*#&!#^^%*($$&*&#*(@$)!@#^#$&#*)$*#@ SCCA
Get some ***** and stick to your rules.

Sorry to hear about you misfortune. I compete in a local club that is NASA based, there are also some problems that arise, but the events are ussaully pretty organized. There is no tolerance for not working your station. If you are eligable for a rerun do to a red flag, you are told so and wait 10 cars and then move in line for your run. The timing computer keeps track of each cars runs and if your over the 8 run limit you flagged and if your under the officials will tell you that you have another run. Also, our events are limited to 100 cars the local SCCA events are much more and from what I've heard you end up with alot less runs.

It is rather unfortunate that your fellow competitors decided that working their flagging stations were not something they should complete. I don't believe this to be limited to SCCA events, as I have witnessed this at other clubs that autocross as well; believe me when I say it isn't just an SCCA event problem.

On a local level, I know it is not uncommon to deny entry to those who are known to be chronic "no show's" for work assignments. The operators of the events are all volunteers and as such each event may operate slightly differently.
