272 concept car listing

READ THIS!!!

http://www.cobaltss.org/gallery/2005gmscb/DSCN0840

I take it the 272 concept car doesnt have the pulley upgrade? It gets 272 fromt he aluminum block and heads, exhaust (WHICH IS A MASSIVE 3.5 INCH EXHAUST), and a high flow cat? I just found it interesting. i thought it was a cobalt witht he pulley upgrade and exhaust. i didnt know about the aluminum block and heads

our 2.0 has the aluminum block and head. That has 16 PSI so it has to have a smaller pulley, it has a better intake, ram air. It also has a stainless steel header.

I think there's a moderator that's seen that car, maybe zinner? But all of that stuff is listed here.

Except the exhaust, why in the world would they need 3.5 inch exhaust?

Isn't 3.5" exhaust a little over kill for our type of application? Unless it's 3.5 Crush Bent (not specified) which may bring it down to 3.25" or possibly 3", right?

I couldn't see going any larger than 3"

Guys it's a concept show car so I wouldn't take the 3.5 inch exhaust as some unspoken gospel that 3.5 is the perfect diameter.

I think there are a few details missing on the spec sheet. Either that or they are quoting HP numbers from the crank and not the wheels

Concept

one thing i could suggest to explain the incresed hp is our blow off valve. our superchargers have a blow off at 11 psi. im sure that the 272 has no blow off valve.

It may not have a smaller pulley. Anyone else notice that they rev it OVER 7,000 rpms!? If you took a stock sc/ss, and took it over 7,000 rpms, you'd gain more boost and power. Just wait untill tuning software is available, we're going to see some serious HP from these motors!

It is a bypass valve and both have to have it. Ours release presure at 12.5 PSI that one does at 16 PSI.

It may be running a smaller pulley. Doesn't the stage 2 say 243 ft-lb of torque also? Plus our cars would put out more hp if we had the higher rpms unlocked. Every dyno I have seen for our cars are still climbing 'til the fuel cut off.
