2.4l COOLING PROBLEM ?

hey guys for 2 days now when i use my car the secondary fan comes on and stays on and the coolant guage shows this {Coolant Temp: ------} whats odd is it happends the second i start the car in the morning even after a full night of no use ?!?!@

anyway periodically during the day the secondary fan will shut off and the gauge will read normal temps such as {Coolant Temp: 185*} put that usually only lasts in 10 minute spurts and then its comes back on and the gauge reading disappears

-There is plenty of coolant in the system

Any ideas .... iam all out

It should still be under warranty, right?

Well, in my own mental thinking of theory. (assuming i were to design a car)

if the car cant sense the coolant temp, id want it to kick on the fans to full too, just incase you were to run hot.

Its covered under warranty.

Hell, I have a turbo kit, yet the dealership still fixed all my coolant issues.

mine has the same problem and i cant get it to duplicate when i go to the dealer. but you would think a warning light would come on if it has no idea of the temp? irts got to be a sensor and teh sedning unit is fine to the PCM or the coolant temp warning light would iluminate. i just went over waranty and this is happening to me for about a month. let me know if you find something. good luck

This may be due to a bad thermostat. I can't see any other reason why it would be doing that.

if it was a thermostat the car might not run right (heat up) and the temp would still read somthing

huh ...ya its still under warranty but note that the car runs fine... ample power wether the fans on or off ........so it probably just the sensor .... ya i think i might just bring it in

Talking

your car is just so visually hot that it HAS to run the fans all day so it doesnt bake you alive inside.
