I got my Centerforce clutch installed

I just got my Centerforce DF clutch kit installed. Kit came with lightweight flywheel. Now i have this vibrating noise on decelleration. Is this normal or was it installed wrong? The shop that installed it told me that performance clutches are loud anyway and it was normal (I'm calling bs on that). Any help would be appreciated.

Centerforce clutches are notorious for the weights chattering like that... I guess after almost 20 years nothing has changed...

Other than the vibes, how do you like it? Hows the lightnes of the flywheel affect everything, clutch itself nice? Im looking into one of these soon.

alright check it out I have the DFX not the DF but essentially they are the same. My clutch does love to chatter it is normal to have some but the centerforce is a little more i don't mind it. it does lessen some the more you drive it and break it in atleast mine has. if you have any concearns about the integrity of your clutch or centerforce give em a call I did and they were very helpful. the pedal is mushy because of the weight system centerforce uses on their clutches, it takes some getting used to but its nothing bad. the weight system also makes it a bit easier on the throwout bearing (just guessing) i think. yes the place that installed my clutch did forget to refill my fluid but its all good i get normal noise from my tranny i am also running the stage 2 axles which kind of whine a little. hope i helped and if you got any other q's please feel free . thanks for the heads up cole

Glad to see your your Centerforce Clutches are working out great for you guys!

Out of curiosity, when you say squishy do you mean like stock or even less? I prefer a stiff pedal like my Exedy has personally.

Hey guys, I have the same DFX and mine is extremely noisy. Especially when I'm on the interstate and I let off the accelerator with it still in gear. It's LOUD. But my question is does anyone have problems with it slipping? I had mine installed by GM when they were putting in my new motor. I got the car back and normal drove, no WOT or excessive accerleration for about 600 miles. The first time I slammed the 1-2 shift, it slipped like a bitch. Occasionally it will slip the 2-3 but very rarely. I now never accererate from first to second because I now it's going to slip. Is there anything I can do. Maybe talk to Centerforce since it was installed by a GM master tech. Will they warranty it? Thanks guys.

hmmm. I also bought this setup not the dfx but the standard setup from turbo tech. I am a master/nissan/ase tech and I would say a softer than normal pedal I feel would be due to not bleeding the system. I have always found after putting in a new clutch that bleeding the system is a must!! also I do believe the clutch/flywheel setup is bal. which means if they are not installed like they sit in the box and/or bolted up and the tech just put it in like a normal clutch then the clutch becomes unbal. and chatter will be felt. I will verify this when I install mine.....

Go to the dealership you had it installed at and ask if they replaced the slave cylinder when they installed it. If not then they should have advised you to do so because they fail if not replaced when a new clutch is installed. Trust me on this as I've had the tranny in/out of my pretty much more than anyone on here. If the slave is failing it will make a horrendous squealing/chirp noise itself and could very well cause the clutch to slip.

Im in need to a clutch now too, im trying to decide the Centerforce seems to be a good price. Where did everybody get there's at and how much did you pay?

Also im sure this is better then the Spec and CM clutch's? Or am I incorrect?
