Silver SS/SC w/ Bronze painted stockers

Well I have been thinking of painting my stock SS/SC rims bronze for ALONG time but never really had the ***** to do it with my silver car until I saw oldsskool's thread "gotta be different" and decided to take the leap. I really liked the way the stock wheels looked in bronze and wanted something different than the black wheels that alot of folks are doing these days. I started this project Saturday and it took me about 6-7 hours with sanding out all the old paint chips, drinking, and bullshitting. I used Dupli-Color High Performance Wheel Coating.

Step:

1. Sanded out paint chips with 150 grit
2. Went over entire wheel with 320 grit
3. 2 coats of primer
4. 2 coats of bronze
5. 3 coats of clear

I still need to let the clear dry for at least 48 hours before I hit it with a good polish job. These pics were the best I could do with the semi dirty car, NO SUN, and dust. Once my car gets out of the body shop I will get some better pics with some sun lite and a clean car. Let me know what you guys think. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

For some reason I just don't like it on that color car... you did a great job though, paint looks flawless. Maybe in better light it would look different. You need a lighter, more gold type color for the silver. At least I think thats what would look better.

Looks good dude, congrats on taking the leap! LoL. Hopefully your clear holds up on the acrylic enamel based paint. I didnt do any primer or clear, just a gajillion coats of Bronze.

Great job painting the wheels! I just personally think the bronze looks better on darker colors though. I did this in bronze on my Integra's LS mesh wheels and they came out awesome. Sorry for the shitty pics, but you'll get the idea of what it looks like.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I am planning on going out and washing the car and taking pics this weekend. Before I do that I am going to polish the clear and put a coat or two of wax for a little extra protection. I think the polish will give it that shinny look that some of you are looking for. I hope it is enough to turn you guys that don't like it or are teetering on the unsure line and change your mind.

what he said....also maybe body color silver between the spokes would set it off....
