My car was supposed to be here yesterday, and it never showed up. So i called GM DBC this morning to check on it and they said GM found a defect in one of the turbo balts so they can't release any of them until they are all checked for this defect. Mine is still sitting in Lordstown, OH. :cussing:

to bad they didn't say exactly what it is. But usually they release them no matter the issues with them, the factory can't fix them, we have received lots of messed up vehicles from the factory, once it leaves the factory floor the parts are considered used.

Sounds a little "fishy" to me. When that car is built, it leaves! If a problem on the line is noted, the new part/procedure is implemented starting with a certain VIN. The previously built units are not held or called back. A recall or Dealer Servive Bulletin is issued covering possible involved vehicles by VIN breakpoint,, such as the 08 Coolant issue. Your car was either mis-shipped to an incorrect location (a rarity in this computer scan code age) or sustained minor damage that is being repaired prior to dealer delivery or minor transportation damage being dealt with locally at your dealership. Under a certain amount does NOT have to be disclosed to the consumer.
Examine CLOSELY or consider another normally processed unit prior to signing a loan for years,, for a problem. Don't get caught up in the "new car excitement" and jump. Consider all your options. Time, makes and models will come and go.. Be careful, if you feel that "gut hesitation" talking to the dealer or seeing the car, that's your answer. Act accordingly! Best of luck in whatever you do or decide.

maybe they sold his car to somebody else and they haven't figued out how else to tell him.

being that they are pretty much special ordered and most dealers are only getting a few at most, i highly doubt these cars will be sitting in the showrooms or lots very long. IMO if you arent ordering one of these they probably won't be available on a walk-in basis

Sometimes they do keep the production line running even if they is a defect and quarrentine all the cars they built in the parking lot. They do this so that they don't have to shut down production because one supplier sent them bad parts.

It will then be up to the guilty supplier to fix all the cars in the parking lot.

They WILL fix them before shipping if a problem is discovered at the factory plant level . The 2005 coupes got held up for months back when the SS was first coming with fender issues .
