Got scammed by Paul aka rangerdog

Me & another cobaltss member ( johnladow07) got scammed by Paul Bacon ( rangerdog ). He was selling selling an intake and a set of tires here. I got the tires and johnladow07 bought the intake. Neither of us got anything back from Paul. I tried calling him, send him PM's and emails, however, he doesn't respond.

Can anyone help me out here? Anybody know this guy? He seems to come out to the meets in DFW area.

Paypal could not recover anything. He took all the money out of his account before the dispute started.

his account will just go negative eventually, and it will come out of his account. Paypal is very good about working it stuff out.

I don't think he will ever use this paypal account. He'll probably just open a new one. I'll try calling my bank tomorrow. It was a bank transfer tho.....

he cant, that account is linked to his account or card. If he trys to delete it and make a new one he will just be reopening the old one.

usually when you close a paypal account the card or bank account remains active with paypal for 90 days because of reasons like that. And a Bank account stays active for 30 after the person closes it.
Worst come to worst, call paypal and start bitchin'

That's kinda weak. It usually takes PayPal 4 business days to transfer money to/from your PayPal account. What are the odds you will receive something you buy in those 4 days? Slim to none unless you got overnight shipping. Even then, a buyer typically waits a week+ to file a claim if they feel they have been ripped off. PayPal needs a new policy to prevent a seller from transferring funds received from a transaction for at least two weeks.

well if you know were he works, any chance of going over and maybe getting a business card, or something with some information. What would be killer is if you can get his boss's number and give him a call, let him know, if he works for a dealership, tell them that your going to the media about how one of their employees scammed you, there is nothing that they hate more then bad press.

If this was me, I would find out as much as I could, and make life "uncomfortable for this guy". I wouldn't cross the " chargeable harassment line" but I'd ******* be right up to it. Cheat me out of my money bitch, I'll make life hell for you!

All paypal is concerned about is making money on fees. If you get ripped off it's just part of doing business on the Internet using paypal with some random person on the net

Unless something has changed, when you sign up for a Paypal account, you are required to have a valid bank account. To get a valid bank account, you need a SSN #. That is how Paypal gets their money after they reimburse you. that is what they explained to me when something like this happened to me via ebay. However, it did take 30 days after the refund was attempted by Paypal before I heard anything further, and another 10 days before I got my money back. You should call Paypal's customer service and give them your claim #. They can tell you what to expect and a time frame.

Not true. I don't have a bank account and I have paypal, but I did have to have a credit card so they should have the guys information.
