Well I was at work, I'm a apprentice at a local chevy dealer ship by me and work was over, and I had to do my oil change. So I got it in and did it, and then I realized I definetly couldn't stand the way our horn is. So I bought the high note version of our horn, and figured I would put that in, because the cobalt only has one horn, which is the low note. So I took the head light and the head light bracket out. I did this by just taking out the push pins that hold the front grill on, and this way I could get enough play to get it out. I got to the horn, and I cut the plug/connector off and I spliced in the second horn. And made a custom bracket to fit the second horn in. BTW it sounds 100 times better! Also I had to up the fuse for the horn to a 15 amp fuse. But anyway I noticed while I had the head light bracket out the intake was right there. So why are people taking the wheel well out, when they can just take the head light out? I am about to order my Injen intake so I want to see if there is a reason that people are taking the wheel and wheel well out if they dont have to.

I don't really care for my horn.
Althought it would be nice to have a crazy loud one.
To answer your question: You do have to take the wheel off. I understand you can see the intake by removing the headlamp, but how would you take the airbox out along with the piping? You couldn't there isn't any space.

Actually after removing the headlamp bracket there was more than enough space to work with the intake. Oh and its not crazy loud, most cars have 2 horns a high and low note, ours has one. I just added another stock horn on. Its got a nice tone and deep sound to it, and its a little louder, so people can actually hear it.
EDIT: And its an easy removal, 4 ten millimeter bolts in an easy to reach place.

If you can remove the stock intake through the hole where the headlight bracket was, I'll buy you dinner.
