Best Sounding Exhaust on a 2.2

I am in the market for a new cat back system and I was wondering what sounds the best. I had a full 2.25 magnaflow cat back, magnaflow high flow cat, with pacesetter headers with a custom 2.25 inch down pipe. . . that sounded like GARBAGE. The car sounded like a pissed off weed whacker.

So before I make the mistake on my 05 2.2, I wanted to know what you guys like.

I'm looking for something mild at idle, but when you get on it, you can hear her scream. I have been looking at Pacesetter and the GMPP, and I know theres tons out there. Anyone got any suggestions, sound clips?

I have the GMPP touring. It has a nice deep tone to it. I describe it as a throaty purr.

I can just barely hear it at highway speed, so its not annoying on long trips.

This car's not worth spending $500 on exhaust.

i recently helped a guy put on a full exhaust, he has the zzp header/downpipe and gmpp catback. not sure which one. but it sounded pretty damn good, it was the nicest 2.2 i've ever heard. was very deep, a little grunt at idle, but almost stock sounding as far as volume. you can really hear it good when you get on the gas though, but still its not crazy loud. that's the setup i would recommend for what you're looking for.

GMPP... I have mine for sale actually. $300 shipped. Sounds amazing. If I were you... I'd invest in a Stock SS/SC downpipe though. My SS sounded BEAUTIFUL with the stock DP on. Gotta have that cat in there.

it may sound great, but it's extremely restrictive.

You can have mine for $300 shipped.

A Chevy dealer is PROBABLY going to charge you somewhere around $650 to $750... depending on how much they mark up their parts. CrateEngineDepot sells it for $545 plus shipping.

NOT TO MENTION the fact that mine comes WITH the tip... and both the Dealer and CED you'll also have to buy the $50+ Tip.
