2 step launch control via HPTUNERS!!

Just go to fuel control, P/N, set all the tables to your desired launch rpm. I got mine set to 4500rpms, I build 10psi on stock pulley sitting still. Pretty cool.

NOTE: not for street tires! lol.

sorry about the vid being all black, it's night time and I just took the vid like 5 min. ago.

I put that in the first post. I'll take a new vid tomorrow in the day light.

With HPT using Fuel to cut engine speed, rather than spark... This can't be good. This is the same thing as letting the car bang off its 7K rev limiter. Not good for the crank.

You already know how I feel about a 2-step on a blown car.

it sets the limit, and it doesn't go past the limit rpm. I really don't see how it could cause any problems. besides, it was free, so it saves me 200 bucks.

Also, I can tell you right now that it launches harder than just reving up and dumping the clutch on slicks. building boost on the line FTW!

Lol, if you want to make power off the line, put a smaller pulley on. There is no boost to me made, the blower spins the same speed at any given engine RPM, belt driven.

got other goals before I throw a smaller pulley on. If this doesn't net a sub 2 sec 60ft., I'll be pissed. And I'll quote whatever you want in my sig for being a 2step/blown car expert. How's that sound?

I will put my disclaimer up now then. I am by no means an expert.

Just saying, has the thought crossed your mind that you might not be getting off the line as best as you want, simply because your not making the power at stock form?

I'm more power than stock. What does that mean? I think this will help get off the line harder.

I won't say it will or it won't. I am just as curious as you to see how this works at the track. Just spilling out my thoughts.

Holding the car on the stock limiter, regardless of the RPMs, can't be good for anything. Stock limiter is not designed to be used like that. I'm glad that it works for you, but I wouldn't want to do that to my car.

cool, no problem. Any comments/questions/concerns are always welcome. I'm hoping to try this out at the track this friday night. If I cut a 1.8/9 60ft., I'll be super stoked, cuz it'll be another stock pulley record. LOL.

HOPEFULLY we'll see what it does this friday. If not, it'll be 4 months before I get another chance.

that's not the stock limiter, it has been adjusted. It's not like I'm going to hold it there for 10 secs. I'll only hold it there right before I launch.

I understand that the RPMS are not stock, but the method it uses to hold that RPM is the same as the stock rev limit, which is a fuel cutoff. You really want an MSD style, soft touch spark limiter, that will help it hold a steady RPM. If you pop the clutch on a falling spot while on the limiter, it may cause a bad bog. Either way, try it and see what happens. Only way to know.

Now, where in the world did you learn this?

BTW, the most damage you can do is stripping out the keyway in the timing cover for the oil pump. GM warns of it in one of their Ecotec engine build books, the fix is to install billet gears.

The fuel cutoff isn't a problem, your EGTs are ultra low when doing this so it makes no difference using a fuel or spark cut rev limiter in this fashion.

WRONG... there has been ONE person to cut a 1.7 60 foot on stock pulley.. on slick's with a stock pulley, hptuned and a full GMPP exhaust with solid mount's.. basically all your mod's- the cooling ones.. not to take away from your glory as he was running a low to mid 14 at 2700FT altitude and cut ONE 1.7 60 foot on 16 inch saab rim's with huge DR's on her.. and it was a NON lsd car.. so you could be the second..

I wasn't referring to the 60ft. being a record, I was referring to the 1/4 mile and 1/8th mile ET's. But thanks for enlighting me on the 1.7 60ft. That gives me hope!

hey man i hope you do break record's.. man cause i swear the LSJ can put down some serious power with jus solid mount's and traction mod's.. **** i had a non lsd IRL on a stock pulley beat me off the line.. but i pulled and passed by the first of 3rd.. i had an LSD stage 2 car.. and 14 pound's of boost at under 3k RPM=TIRE SPIN CITY..

I tried this one, but it totally back fired (not literally), because if I tried to granny shift, it would absolutly smash the 4500 rev limiter up at 6800 rpm, so the motor would like freak out. I reset my p/n rev limiter to 6500
