My turbo 2.0 info and a vid

Well as some of you may know I have been working with SMG motoring to build my turbo lsj. at first we were going to strap a little t3super 60 on it. My goals became higher and I got a 60-1.

After a lot of hassle we gave up on the 60-1 and went back to the super 60 until I can get a t3t450trim. SO, the super60 is way to small. It start loosing boost a little above 5k. SO my max power is @ 5200. It's kind of disappointing but you can't expect too much more from a turbo said to be maxed out a 300 crank hp.

We ended up with 277/282 up from 248/228 with the sc. We can squeeze a little more out of it for over 280 but thats going to be well past the limit of the turbo. The torque gains were very respectable though. 54 overall and around 65 in some places over the SC.

As far as tuning we to 10% of fuel OUT OF THE PE. That really shows the efficiancy of the turbo over the SC and makes the motor a lot happier.

The clutch is on it's edge now so the build will continue with a bigger turbo and a clutch witch I should have by the end of the summer. I will make track passes with this and that setup.

Here is a little teaser vid

Their should be kits available from SMG with the finished product including a 50 trim and custom bent piping by the summer sometime. They will probably be significantly cheaper than what's available.

Feel free to PM me for info on the kit.

I went for a ride in this car when it was still at SMG and we were working some of the bugs out of it. I gotta say, when that little turbo spools up it pulls HARD!

Needless to say, i think i'm going to be next in line at SMG for a turbo conversion.

It seems I may be loosing boost because of a bad turbo gasket. I may end up @ 300 with the little super 60 on saturday anyway.

I tried to get one. I was getting dicked around by vendors so I canceled my orders and went out and bought a 60-1. That didn't end up fitting so I strapped on the little turbo I had laying around on it to get it running for now.

I should have a turbonetics 50 trim this weekend. But, it's not going in until I get a new clutch.

few things,
1 you need to change the maf location, or setup as a recirc type BOV, once it relases pressure it's going to bog like **** btwn shifts,
2 a 60-1 will fit back there....... look at my car lol.
3 congrats on going turbo.

same **** happened with me, I was going to originally run the t3 super 60 on there, and was like wait, Im doing all this work to put me @ the same power levels? **** that lol, went with a bigger T3/T04E .57 trim, that still didn't "do it" for me, so then in went the T3/T4E HiFi 60-1 and oh wow wat difference.

the maf is on the intake piping, so when the bov releases, air will still be drawn throught he maf telling the computer to keep fuleing, unless you recirc it, or make it blow through, you're gonna have a bitch of a time tuning

to make it blow through he would have to move the maf post bov right?

I am going to recirc the BOV soon. It only really effects it when I'm like mid throttle. WOT shift are fine for me.

I know the 60-1 will fit but I was getting impatient and the damn ebay manifold would have had to been modifed a third time. So I decided to strap the super 60 on it.

I am going to trade the 60-1 for a 50 trim. I'm hopping it will help a bunch but it seems I'm being stubborn learning the same way as you. It is clear that the super 60 is far to small.

Thank you for the congratulations. IDK how the hell your clutch still holds but someday I'm hoping for power like yours. I got a little trick up my sleeve for a new clutch too..

well I dunno how it shifts ok at wot, I guess it's good that it keeps fueling, but my car used to fall on it's face and launch a nice fireball out the exhaust.

and to mike25 blow through means the maf is in between the turbo and the throttle body, bov would have to be between the maf and the turbo.
