Alright well here goes... I have been having a problem with my cobalt for a while now.. I just havn't had time to take care of it, and with summer comming around the corner (and gas prices spiking $4.00+) I wanna get it taken care of.
1. My car gets about 19-20 mpg city... when it is suppose to get 26. I know your probably thinking i'm ballin around town at full rpm since it is a manual... The sad thing is... I am really not... I keep my chift point @ 3k or less (i know... slow... but still) and my gas mileage doesn't improve in the slightest. I thought maybe it was the gas... but the only gas that has ever been in this car has been shell. Then I thought it might have been my feul injectors, cleaned them in an autoclass lab... decent power increase, but no change in MPG efficiency. the car has exacrly 25,100 Miles on it. So i'm a little stuck in determining what the issue is.
2. This one may be related to the last, Sometimes if my car is idling... instead of idling at 1k RPM, it bounces between 1200 and 8-900 (i'm guessing since our RPM meters arentthat specific) This happens regarless of AC being on or off, and clutch being engaged or car just in plain neutral... Any ideas?
Also I tried our loving search engine and found nothing of any relevence... so if I missed any previous answer... sorry -=shrugs=-
Thanks! -Stephen.
