are these supposed to be rusty for a 3 month old car?
The first pic is an exhaust flange. Because of heat, you can't apply any type of corrosion inhibitor on it. Sure it's rusty already but will last year and years.
Second pic "looks" like the steering shaft coupler. Again, this is a part that rust will have no effect on it's usefullness for years to come.

the white stuff is most likely an oxidation similar to an old battery. that gunk that cakes up on the end. not dangerous, just unsightly and annoying. nothing to worry about. and in the north east, rust like that is MINOR for 3 months. back when we still had decent snow here in jersey, my brother's spec v which was 3 months old at the time was completely rusted along the undercarriage. no damage or any effect on part longevity, just one of those things that you can't help.
Alot of guys around here spray WD-40 on all the aluminum parts in the fall to stop the salt from staining the aluminum.
You cant really polish those rough castings, but you could use a stiff brush with WD-40 on it and scrub most of the oxidation of tje Aluminum.

the styrofoam look is the resualted texture from casting metal.... since you had to ask this question casting means that they melted metal down to a liquid form, poored it into a mold that is shaped like an engine block... after it cools it hardens and the engine plant cleans up the block to get it ready for assymbly.... ive actually got to see this done once since my dad worked at an engine plant as a tool and die maker

wait basically bathe my engine in WD-40 and use a brush? o.0 =/ sounds like a pain in the ass

I drove an 89 Z24 and agree they were really good little cars. The exhaust sounded good, they had a halfway decent stock radio, and the handling was great i thought, always felt confident driving that car.
My rotors were rusting on the car lot when it was new.
I had a black and gray 88 Z24 back in 94 . I loved that car , and their exhaust note from the factory sounded great. I remember at the time thinking how good it handled and that it couldnt get much better than this lol.
Hahahha so you must grace this thread with your presence? How LEET of you
