I had to go to three dealerships to find one that even knew they were being made! The first dealer swore they had discontinued them in 07... Even when I rattled off the specs and differences. Crazy.

I cant wait...This will be my first brand new car.

EEEP. When did you order it? I ordered my '08 april 26th and they cancelled it...but they replaced my order with a 2009 but my dealer is being reallly lame and I haven't heard aaaaaaaaaaaanything about it. I emailed him yeseterday asking if he had placed my order since tuesday is the day that dealership sends them in, and I told him I heard that 2008's were being shipped out and i haven't gotten a response yet. I paid a deposit...he can't just be dicking around like that especially if I have money in it and he knows I'm paying cash for the car. UUGGHH! It's not the waiting I mind, it's not knowing how long I have to wait exactly...or actually not knowing anything!

i ordered my ss/tc march 19th and its still not here. i've been told since may 1st its in shipping. i gave the dealer till the end of this week to get it or i'm buying a subaru

 

Actually I just checked my email and the guy said the 2009 isn't actually available to order until June...so I only have to wait 10 more days before he places my order. He sent me an email with 2 powerpoint attachments from GM, that I guess is an internal email that I'm not supposed to show anyone else. It gives ALL the specs of the car down to every little detail, it has pictures of the new redesigned gauges and whatnot. Looks worth the wait. So he'll let me know when he places the order and when it should be ready! Yay, it's a step in the right direction. I'd post the powerpoint...but I was told not to show it to anyone =[

Dont feel bad get the same feeling here they said we havent heard from gm about when it will be shipped lol they are waiting for them but cant seem to take any effort to look it up I dont think there are any any where here utah or california yet called around on the ones that are showing on dealer inventory and they dont know anything. false rumors again.

Its possible you might still get an 08. I ordered one yesterday (5/22) and should know by tomorrow if they are gonna kick it out of the system or not. I'll post and let you know how it goes.

 

Just got the code from the dealer, its 3000, so they accepted my 08 order. Just for those of you that ordered in the last week or two and were worried you were gonna get stuck waiting for an 09.

 

So wait, I'm lost. Sorry. When is the closest rough estimate of when they will be releasing the 2009 model of the SS/TC?

 

The dealer told me they'll start building them at the end of june...but ya never know
that's weird my order for my '08 was dropped yet yours wasn't...

 

Yeah, I was on pins and needles the last day or two after I read about your order getting dropped. No clue why mine went through. I mean, we are getting the GM employee discount and the dealership owner is a family friend, but that shouldn't affect the ordering in Ohio.

Either way, I will let you know if the code gets updated next week sometime. Surprised it went through to the 3000 code so quick, based upon the experiences some of the ppl on the forums have had.

 

Is the employee discount really that big of a deal? Usually you can haggle the salesman down a few grand, or he has you pay MSRP but charges no extra fee to get the Additional Accessories you select. . .
