not looking good for my ss/tc

so i went to my dealer today for an update. hes been telling me since may 1st thats its in shipment and i will recieve it any day. well today which is 21 days later i decided enough is enough and i want a real answer. i finally get the salesman to look it up in front of me and it says the car is still in the factory and has not been scheduled to leave ohio as of yet. so after seeing this i am fuming that he had the ***** o tell me for 3 weeks the car is being shipped when it clearly says its still in ohio. when i ask for my down payment back the manager gets a reall bitch-like and tells me i can't back out of a custom factory order and offers me a courtesy car tp drive till i get my ss/tc (like a 99 malibu will make me feels better). so after informing him that my lawyer works for free and his lawyer works for 300per hr and has no leg to stand on because i want a refund on a car that the dealer cannot provide me, he dicides on the following: if my car is not delivered, prepped, and ready for me to drive away by may 30th (a week from tommorow) he give refund my money.

to be honest i have been looking at other cars due to the poor treatment i received on this order. a subaru dealer has found me a georgous 08 legacy gt limited 5spd in my color of preference for 26k and treated me with respect which at this point goes a long way. this morning i wanted the ss/tc but now after the way things went down i don't even want the car. since i figure its impossible for chevy to get this car out ofqualtiy control in lordstown, to paramus NJ, then to my dealer and prepped for delivery by next friday i guess i am no longer a cobalt owner. what a freaking headache on my day off.

Honestly, go with the scooby. You're better off, or buy a leftover supercharged ss.

Do they have the boxer engine? If so you also get the unique scooby sound (with aftermarket exhaust of course)

I can't blame you for being pissed off, if it's not a WRX then you might regret getting the Subaru over the SS....but then again it's your $$$$$$. Best of luck getting what ever makes you happy.

Later,
Al

yes the legacy gt limited comes with the 243hp turbochargered/intercooled boxer enigine. the 08 wrx only puts out 224hp with the same setup. cobb makes a tune to up hp, boost, and fuel economy. there are many exhauss but but they get pricey due to the dual exhaust. as for the wrx blowing i don't thik so. its the same car with a new body that looks more refined to appeal to different audience instead of just the sporty look. the hatch wrx is idenical styling wise to the sti.

If you get a subaru, forget the accessport and cobb tune. Those are just generic maps. My buddy has 2006 wrx and just got his car tuned by a guy in California (i forget the name right now) over the internet. You get a tractix cable, some free software, then send him how your mapped and what mods your running. He then tunes your car for your specific mods and sends the tunes over e-mail. Hook up the software to your car and download. His car on a stock turbo with only an intake, midpipe, downpipe for upgrades is incredible. Its putting out over 18psi at its peak post and has huge gains in hp and torque.

That's not really anything to sneeze at these days. 100k+ is expected as an ABSOLUTE minimum.

My dealer would never lie to me like that. I would be going somewhere else if they did. My dealer in fact bought my car outright from another dealership because the other dealer refused to trade for it, and then had it delivered, cleaned and preped in 1 day.

This coming from a person who not only wasted their money on a cobalt, but a SS/TC at that.

i think 100k is an understatement. almost any car these days will get pretty close to 200k if taken care of.subaru also offers retail vale on any trade in up to 3 years w/out body pant work. that means as long as i don't have any panel repainted (that they know of) i can get the actual value of the car as a trade-in price. that is a guarantee that no other car maker will promise. subaru definitly beleives in their products. also i did visit a few subie dealers and it is nearly impossible to find a used subaru. apparently people keep these cars for a while so that says reliable to me.
