Just wondering how to do this and what kind of paint to use Much appreciated in advance GULLABLE0NE 05-22-2008, 07:42 PM i have front and rear black painted bowties that i may no longer need. if your interested XM15 05-22-2008, 07:45 PM Mask off the chrome, put a bunch of light coats of the color of your choice, enough light coats of clear coat to make it glossy, peal off the tape you used to mask the edge, and you're all set. Pretty easy, really; just take your time with it. FASTL61 05-22-2008, 07:51 PM i just cleaned it off sprayed it with adhesion promoter then flat black and that was it http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/6514/sicass004nf8.jpg (http://imageshack.us) SI FTL 05-22-2008, 10:57 PM i just cleaned it off sprayed it with adhesion promoter then flat black and that was it http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/6514/sicass004nf8.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Thanks for everybody's advice i'll give it a shot. It was my first time ever spray painting anything and it came out near perfect. I'd post pics but I don't own a camera so I'll have to wait until my girl gets hers fixed Projekt 05-23-2008, 01:22 AM http://cobaltss.net/gallery/files/1/7/1/1/7/P1010319_343340.JPG ssweeet 05-23-2008, 01:25 AM Looks better when you paint the whole bowtie IMO. OriGinaL Condo 05-23-2008, 01:38 AM Looks better when you paint the whole bowtie IMO. The solid black on black doesn't look too hot, IMO. The "chrome" outline is what makes it work |
