Just a ? I see a lot of people with a painted front bowtie (or bought one) I think they look great! Just wondering how to do this and what kind of paint to use

i have front and rear black painted bowties that i may no longer need. if your interested

Mask off the chrome, put a bunch of light coats of the color of your choice, enough light coats of clear coat to make it glossy, peal off the tape you used to mask the edge, and you're all set. Pretty easy, really; just take your time with it.

i just cleaned it off sprayed it with adhesion promoter then flat black and that was it

Thanks for everybody's advice i'll give it a shot. I was just worried about the paint sticking to the already glossy bowtie (and over spray) But i'm going to try it and hopefully put some pics up!

It's really easy if you read over that first. It was my first time ever spray painting anything and it came out near perfect. I'd post pics but I don't own a camera so I'll have to wait until my girl gets hers fixed

The solid black on black doesn't look too hot, IMO. The "chrome" outline is what makes it work
