View Full Version : 1st Dyno Run
badg1rl 01-19-2006, 04:15 PM So my boyfriend just took my car to dyno test it before we do performance parts and this is what my baby pulled/
228.3hp , 197.6 torque
Im pleasantly surprised...what are some other numbers everyone is pulling?
We are going to test a few different parts, Intakes we got, exhaust, and what not and then i will post new numbers. i have to check to see if he got a printout and ill scan it and post :cssNET:
pclear9061 01-19-2006, 04:19 PM looking great :D :twothumbs
1stbluSS 01-19-2006, 04:21 PM That is roughly around where others are dynoing. I want to dyno my car but they charge $100 a pop around here. That is ridiculous. I am hoping with my 3.1 pulley, K and N, boost mod I can pull 240.
DJNateGnau 01-19-2006, 04:24 PM Nice.....

celicacobalt 01-19-2006, 05:35 PM nice numbers, it will be interesting to see what each part adds when you dyno
Dragonsfire12345 01-20-2006, 12:56 PM awesome numbers over here in SA one place charges 75bucks for 2 runs
GSoccer24 01-20-2006, 01:03 PM nice numbers! what type dyno was it? also, do you know the correction factor he used? i wanna get a baseline done soon too, there's a few shops i found locally that have dynos now.
D4u2s0t 01-20-2006, 01:14 PM good numbers! i thought they were underrating them a few hp... but it looks like a good 25 hp?? is that just for the ss/sc or for all models does anyone know?
badg1rl 01-20-2006, 01:18 PM we go back today with a custom intake bwhahahahh...so far no check engine light also...ill post more later.

Way more than 25. Usually a car with 205hp would dyno around 160ish at the wheels.
Dyno numbers are useless for bragging though. They are good for seeing how your car responds to mods (like badg1rl is doing). Put your car on a mustang dyno if you want to use the numbers to brag. Dynojets read pretty high.
badg1rl 01-20-2006, 03:21 PM we went to a mustang shop in deer park....there were a few customers there who were mustang owner who never even saw an SS yet and kenny said they were like wow that sounds nice...then the guy said....yea sounds good and pulled 228 hp and they were like holy shit....
ahhahaha...the dyno is a before and after...its 150 for the before and after readings....we are thinking of maybe renting the place for a day and having a ford probe, cobalt, and cavalier dyno day...but it wont be till summer and i am unsure if its a go yet...ill keep u all posted.
we went to a group dyno in PA with the NEPO (north east probe owners) club...we took the turbo probe but the damn dyno broke before we got a chance to get the probe on.
so...lets hope that doesnt happen if we plan this.
BLKSS 01-20-2006, 03:39 PM Awesome!
johnkb8 10-06-2006, 03:46 PM just intake, 231 hp 215 tq

Yes, dynos measure the wheel horsepower.
Also, the 205 HP was rated on regular fuel, not premium. GM does that to idiot proof test cars. When using a lower octane and you're boosted like this, your computer might pull ignition timing to keep detonation lower and in result, power levels will be lower.
Kennyspec 10-15-2006, 07:45 PM I pulled 283.4hp @ 6900rpm and 228.8 tq @ 6000rpm mods are stg 2, 2.8 pully and Hp tuners. This was on a mustang dyno....so i guess i can brag about it;)
Blown 4-banger 11-02-2006, 05:57 PM Wow this thread was dormant for over 9 months!!!
Xenozx 11-02-2006, 06:10 PM 250/230 stock hehehe. Many say may not be accurate, but the dyno sheet is in my sig :D

This goes for everyone that dynoed high numbers-- Did you dyno in 4th or third? To get accurate numbers you must dyno in fourth. Xeonzx your's had to be in third or something to pull that high of a number..... or you really have a ffreak on your hands.

This has been proven wrong. The only difference you will see is 1-2whp. It's not that big of a difference to be concerned with! Trust me as I have dyno'd my car in both gears everytime I hit the dyno. :twothumbs

and now that the thread is open again, i can correct it. wrong. if you look at the dyno graph and where they took the 205 from, they are actually right...they didnt take it up to redline to get the "numbers"
