Any pics of the intake?
distillion 01-20-2006, 04:21 PM sweet!
badg1rl 01-20-2006, 04:23 PM no 4th gear , they say they pull all there cars 1 gear below Overdrive , so they pull in 4th
and i hit 137 mph
also this was a dynojet and again this is a huge mustang performance shop....they were pretty impressed with the car.
MarcS 01-20-2006, 04:24 PM Awesome :)
ecoteched 01-20-2006, 04:24 PM whats the everage cost for a dyno? I kinda want to put my car on one.
Darksun 01-20-2006, 04:24 PM nice numbers!
badg1rl 01-20-2006, 04:25 PM this was a before and after dyno ....cost 150...but to do one pull it is 75...
since u r in NJ i will keep you posted on a dyno day if we try to set something up...then it might run cheaper for everyone if we bring 20 cars there.
GSoccer24 01-20-2006, 04:33 PM so with intake
+10whp
+7lb/ft
right?
if so that's awesome.
ecoteched 01-20-2006, 04:36 PM yea that would be a cool event. Sucks that i only have the 2.2 though.....
DC52NV 01-20-2006, 04:36 PM nice numbers. $150 for dyno runs though seems very high.
badg1rl 01-20-2006, 04:41 PM so with intake

R33P3R007 01-20-2006, 04:41 PM yeah no shit. for 3 runs with a/f is 80 here. dyno days without a/f 3 pulls 50 bucks
badg1rl 01-20-2006, 04:42 PM well thats ny for ya...everything here is expensive. lol
cvenom2122 01-20-2006, 04:43 PM whats the everage cost for a dyno? I kinda want to put my car on one.

DJNateGnau 01-20-2006, 04:47 PM Killer HP Gain, Badg1rl!
GSoccer24 01-20-2006, 05:02 PM yeah, i know its $150 with a/f around here too, usually $75 without a/f for 3 pulls
there's one place that does 1 warm up pull then 3 pulls with tuning and makes you two maps if you have a computer for it for $250
badg1rl 01-20-2006, 05:07 PM nope none yet...we drove it 100 miles so far to let the car adjust and nothing yet knock on wood
eastcoastz 01-20-2006, 05:11 PM Shit I have to get mine dynoed now! I wonder what I will pull with these modds?
3" S\C pulley, Injen Intake, 3" Cat Back, GM Extruded and Honed Exhaust Manifold, B&M Short Shifter, ZZ Performance Engine Mount
GSoccer24 01-20-2006, 05:12 PM i did the airbox mod just until i get my hands on a full intake and it threw a code after about 100 miles so hopefully you'll be all set if it hasn't thrown it yet. some people get it to come on at about 300 miles it seems too.
badg1rl 01-20-2006, 05:13 PM i think they probably underrate the SS so insurance wont beat the crap out of people...even though most of us wind up getting raped anyway with insurance.
eastcoastz..have u dynoed before the mods???? or is all this already done?
badg1rl 01-20-2006, 05:14 PM i did the airbox mod just until i get my hands on a full intake and it threw a code after about 100 miles so hopefully you'll be all set if it hasn't thrown it yet. some people get it to come on at about 300 miles it seems too.
we will def have to see. ill keep you all posted on this.
eastcoastz 01-20-2006, 07:52 PM I still haven't had her dynoed and yea thats what I have done. Well the Injens goin on tommarrow just in time foe the Freehold meet.
badg1rl 01-20-2006, 08:09 PM see u there....im leaving here at 330

Tripy 01-21-2006, 04:40 AM Dyno sheet?
I'm curious as to where in the RPM range it increased over the first dyno.
wasey13 01-21-2006, 05:06 AM drum roll.....
with the custom intake we made i got:
pulled 238.3 hp and 203.9 torque
BEFORE: 228.3 hp

Did you dyno the 228.3 on the same day??? Or at a different time? Dyno sheets would be cool. :twothumbs
badg1rl 01-21-2006, 10:35 AM different days... the dyno sheets are on the auction page we put up...
http://i6.ebayimg.com/04/i/06/03/08/78_1.JPG
dropthatcav 01-21-2006, 11:03 AM thats expensive for 2 pulls...down here in florida at shop that does mostly supra work was doing like 2 pulls for like less that 80 i believe?
1stbluSS 01-21-2006, 11:06 AM You said custom intake. Did you build your intake using PVC ? Well did your B/F build it using PVC ? If so what quality and what did he do about the MAF ?
GSoccer24 01-21-2006, 11:42 AM here it is:

with the custom intake we made i got:
pulled 238.3 hp and 203.9 torque
BEFORE: 228.3 hp
GAIN: 10 hp :-)
Wheels or crank? That seems a bit high for just an intake. Do you have the dyno sheets?
25hp from just an intake?????? Hmmm.....
1stbluSS 01-22-2006, 10:52 AM Self. Those numbers are pretty avg of what most people are seeing with just the intake. She had a 10 hp gain. Those intakes look pretty good. I like the idea of having the stock air box there with the bottom detached. I think I may send my k and n back and get this intake and save $$$. I was about to go out today and make my own intake and then I remembered that I am lazy. :D
25hp from just an intake?????? Hmmm.....
I think she gained 10hp, this is her 2nd dyno pull her 1st dyno pull thread had her orginal #'s somewhere around 225hp.

They dynoed 228 right? I thought most people were 215-220 stock.
pkskull77 01-22-2006, 02:00 PM They dynoed 228 right? I thought most people were 215-220 stock.
On the dream maker dynos! Most people dyno below 200 at the wheels.
badg1rl 01-22-2006, 02:01 PM yes i gained 10 hp not 25. i posted the link to the dyno sheet.... and it was 238.3 to the wheels on the second pull.
228.3 before
238.3 after
when i spoke to some people at the meet yesterday apparently this is basically close to what they were averaging as well...like i said about underrating our cars...from talking to dealership staff they sometimes do that to keep the insurance lower....especially when u see that they are marketing to a younger....
kenny has been building his own intakes for years...he has made them for probes, scions, cavaliers and now the cobalts. the dyno sheet is about 4 posts ^^^^^
and the other link jeff (gsoccer) posted has all the info on the materials.
They dynoed 228 right? I thought most people were 215-220 stock.
most people do but there is such a large variation between 202-232 stock i've seen. Not to mention that what dyno is being used and what gear the pull is done in.
On the dream maker dynos! Most people dyno below 200 at the wheels.
forth gear mustang dyno ya!
Nevermind I didnt see the baseline run of 228, which is a 10hp gain from the intake. From a dyno session that expensive, I'd want big numbers as well.
pkskull77 01-22-2006, 09:50 PM forth gear mustang dyno ya!
But thats the point, you want realistic numbers not something unreasonably high. If you dyno at 230, but your only really in the 200 range who are you fooling?
GotBoost? 01-22-2006, 10:13 PM yeah something isnt right here.....i dont think they used a SAE correction! I only dyno'd 232whp and 200wtq and that is with a K&N CAI and Magnaflow 2.5" Catback.
mattyfinch 01-23-2006, 01:51 PM 230 with intake and exhaust is about right...they dont offer that much in additions. The larger pipe on the magnaflow hasnt really helped u any over the 2 1/8 pipng, not till u get way up in air flow. The intake gives u 14whp at 6300 rpm, and the exhaust ud be lucky to 5% at the crank.
polo708 01-26-2006, 12:40 AM are you guys seriously putting 238 to the wheels with an intake? ... thats gotta be at the crank, someone confirm please? You guys are rated at 205 to the crank stock right? That would put wheel horsepower at about 185ish... sorry, im just trying to understand.
memphisr24 01-26-2006, 12:51 AM No polo, the average SS/SC dynos 205 to 215 to the wheels. The manufacturer underates them so insurance is cheaper such as the srt4. So really the cobalt has 230 to 240 crank hp.

A dyno number is just that, a number. The point was is that they gained 10whp with just a custom intake.
Darksun 01-26-2006, 01:28 AM I wish I had a baseline dyno. Now when I go to get mine within the month thats gonna have to be my base line compared to the newer mods im putting on in time.
wasey13 01-26-2006, 02:39 AM A dyno number is just that, a number. The point was is that they gained 10whp with just a custom intake.
On different days.
And whats with the Oreo a la SRT-4 pic??:p:
badg1rl 01-26-2006, 08:47 AM i will double check with kenny today. i was not there when it dynoed, he took it to the shop and emailed me and could have sworn what he told me was correct... at any rate, still gained 10 hp
