BullDog71ss 01-20-2006, 11:30 PM Well, after the Flats run I've been aching to have another drive and I think I know exactly where we can do it. Payson. Takes about an hour or so to get there from Mesa and the drive this time of year is awesome. We'll head up, eat, do some more driving around then head back to town. Should be about a 4 hour deal, not unlike the Flats run.
If anyone has some suggestions on other location to head to, feel free to speak up! Lets get a roll call of who will be ready and willing to do one...say, within the next 30 days.
When will all you bums be ready? Soon I hope. :cssNET:
Cobalt_Supercharged 01-23-2006, 02:03 AM Sounds good to me. We'll see how my HW load goes. I want to go on a Sunday. I work all the other days.
victoryredss 01-23-2006, 11:55 AM sunday works for me just try to let me know ahead of time.
2.0ecoSC 01-23-2006, 01:43 PM i could go as long as its not the 2nd or 4th sunday of the month.
BullDog71ss 01-23-2006, 05:54 PM We'll time it out so we can get the maximum turnout, I want as many people as possible to go. Is everyone fine with the drive location and whatnot, or does anyone have any suggestions? Also, ride-along buddies are more than welcome to come along, but I would like to keep it ss/sc, ss and redline models if we can, but if anyone has anything againt that you're more then welcome to let me know about it.
I'm also wondering why only 3 of you have responded to this post, I figured there would be a gaggle of us responding back....hmmm
2.0ecoSC 01-23-2006, 07:10 PM don't know but i'll let the guys on the redline forums know.
d_backer1 01-23-2006, 07:29 PM I'm down for a Payson run and we should hang a right @ the Mcdonalds and head about another 1/2 hour - 45 min. North to the Rim :twothumbs Some nice twisties up thar :cssNET: Stop at the Landmark in Christopher Creek and eat good food and reasonably priced. Just let me know a date approx 2 weeks in advance

Sounds like a great plan to me man! Everyone else pretty content with the drive location?
I have to say, the drive to Payson on a Sunday this time of year, is just perfect.
97cavie24ls 01-23-2006, 08:56 PM id be game but you guys cant go over 108
hennessey833 01-23-2006, 09:03 PM Well damn, i'm out then.......jk. I'm down, I've never been up that way. Just lmk in advance pleeeeeeeze
PhoenixSS 01-23-2006, 09:20 PM I might be up for something, let me know what weekend we're looking at.
ExHondaMan 01-23-2006, 10:35 PM Seems like a long drive to do on a sunday.... but if its not in the next couple weeks im down .
OniMirage 01-23-2006, 10:56 PM im not sure about driving fast up on the rim this time a year cus of the crosswinds on the road and moisture could cause black ice ... dont want anyone flying 300 feet to the bottom. I was actually thinking of areas where we can record some good video of the cars just driving along. The drive up is about 1 hour the mcdonalds would be a good spot to get some grub. locations for some pics or vids shouldn't be too hard to find but at the same time may be impossible to find cus of all the dirt roads.
BullDog71ss 01-24-2006, 01:24 AM id be game but you guys cant go over 108
Would that happen to have something to do with a top speed limiter, Eric?

You think a trip out to the mailbox is a long way to go on Sunday, you lazy bastard. Shutup and drive you big baby! ;)

Even at this time of year there won't be any black ice to deal with, dude. I've taken about 5 trips up to pine canyon in the last 2 months and my grandparents go up there every weekend very early in the morning...no black ice to speak of, it's still just too damn dry and hot. This will be an incredible drive Eric :twothumbs
Well, that's 10 of us so far and I'm sure we can get more interested by word of mouth. This should be a nice turnout if all goes well.
So which exact dates during what month are you guys going to be available?
97cavie24ls 01-24-2006, 04:05 PM Would that happen to have something to do with a top speed limiter, Eric?

korax123 01-26-2006, 04:39 PM Me and my wife might be down for a drive....i've been wanting to get some good video footage.
BullDog71ss 01-27-2006, 11:32 AM so we still down to go up this weekend and plot a trail?
Yeah, but we might have to take your car because mine is in the shop...again!
The sway bay mounts that were broken in the accident have finally showed up at the stealership and while I was there I showed them how the car shuts off if you bang the steering wheel down a bit. My service advisor wasn't pleased with that and said it's a safety issue he'd like to look into, so he sent me away with my dream car. It's an 05 Malibu classic  It feels like you're driving a car made in 1987. Such a POS.
So we can either take my rental, or your SS. What do ya think mang?
BullDog71ss 01-27-2006, 11:46 AM Me and my wife might be down for a drive....i've been wanting to get some good video footage.
Sounds good man. What are some free Sundays you'll have between the 5th of Feb and the 26th of Feb?
That also goes for the rest of you, I'd like to do our drive on one of the Sunday's during February. So I need you all to pick 1 or more days that you will be open (preferably more than 1 to open up the choices). The dates are as follows: 5,12,19,26. Most likely not everyone will be able to go, because a lot of us have conflicting scheduals, so I'm trying to get a list of everyones free days so I can set a drive day where we'll be able to have the largest possible turnout. Make sense?
I need to know asap so we can get the plans rolling along as Feb is coming up on us quickly. Also, Eric and I are going up this weekend to check out some scenic side roads and whatnot for pictures and "spirited" driving.
We'll let you know what we find out later on this weekend.
2.0ecoSC 01-27-2006, 01:38 PM the 5th and the 19th are cool for me, and it looks like there's not much interest from the RL's so i'll probably be the only RL in the group.

RL's don't wanna come along to play huh? Bummer. I supposed they'd rather stand next to there cars all night in a parking lot, talking about driving. :thumbsdow
I can only handle so much of that. Anywho, glad to have you aboard man.
Cobalt_Supercharged 01-27-2006, 09:02 PM I should be free for all of those, but it depends on how much homework I have.
d_backer1 01-27-2006, 09:37 PM Any and all are good for me just let me know :twothumbs

Yeah, its looking about like that so far. Still need about 3 or 4 more guys to reply. I'm gonna start sending some pms out.
So far we have 10-11 guys that should be available to go, 8 of them are ss/sc's. Not too bad so far.

ExHondaMan 01-31-2006, 01:27 AM I asked the parts guy at fan about the stage kits a month or 2 ago and he looked at me like I was an idiot. Im going back to pick up some parts later this week... I will go with the part numbers and see what they say at that time .
victoryredss 01-31-2006, 01:31 AM Thats what you need to do. there gonna feel all macho then you can bust out the part #'s and show them who knows their shit
hennessey833 01-31-2006, 07:28 PM Interesting...who told you that?
Parts guy at Midway. He also said GM is comming out with a parts book, that will show everything available performance wise for the cobalt.
BullDog71ss 01-31-2006, 07:47 PM I think the guy is either full of it, or has some really bad information. I'll give those monkeys a call tomorrow and see what's going on with that mess.
hennessey833 02-01-2006, 08:54 PM You straighten them out bulldog!
OniMirage 02-01-2006, 11:22 PM I think the guy is either full of it, or has some really bad information. I'll give those monkeys a call tomorrow and see what's going on with that mess.
actually the part book is already out ... remember I gave you that call one day from bill heard and mentioned the book (its more like a brochure) ... well the dude had the book and he let me look at the cover but since the other one was stolen he wouldnt let it out of his desk
ExHondaMan 02-02-2006, 04:29 PM Went to Van Chevy today to pick up some parts. Stg 1 number wasnt listed yet.
