First lowered SS/TC

well, not really lol. I've been lurking these forums for a couple months and i just joined because im interested in getting a ss/tc. well here's a photoshop of a lower balt(just took the picture from a member on here). the reason i posted was that i wanted to see if anyone could take a side shot of their balt with their wheels straight(surprisingly no one has yet lol). someone take a pic and post it up so i can (photoshop) lower it!

I have been wondering about the crowd of people who will be lowering their SSTC. These cars are highly engineered for handling. I only know a few things about handling and suspension, but I understand that the shocks work "with" the springs. Won't droping in springs to lower the car without modifying the shocks completely destroy the handling? I understand a lower center of gravity is better and I know this is a pretty complicated issue. Can the suspension guys shed some light on this?

wow, I didn't realize the ss/tc is so godly that you can't even lower it. It's a freaking cobalt. Lower that bitch and get rid of the wheel gap.

that will actually probably hurt handling... so no unless you're going coil overs.. thats the worst idea you can have

why a pic of the ss/tc lowered? look at any lowered ss cobalt, they all look exactly the same, except for the rims.

Going to a spring with a different rate will definitely change the handling. You want your spring rate to match your damping rates, too soft a spring and you will be overdamped and too hard a spring and you be underdamped. Neither of those are desirable, the theoretical optimal is to by critically damped. There will be room for improvement though in most any car in the handling department since they (automakers) actually take ride quality into consideration when choosing component characteristics. If you throw ride quality out the window when designing something you can make it handle better.
