Spec, Sachs, or Luk are known to make a crapload of OEM clutches.

I heard exedy did. Maybe different manufactures thats why different people have different luck with the stock clutches?

This thread is the exact reason that this forum gets out of control.

You guys can't believe everything you hear on a forum.

90% of the people on any online forum just make educated guesses about everything, its your job to figure out who actually knows what the hell they're talking about.

You also have to remember that GM could have switch suppliers at ANY TIME during the production run.

Some of us could have Spec clutches, some could have LUK, some could have exedy, etc.

VW does this all the time.

i know ann the f23 equipt vehciles ive worked on (all cavalier/sunfire) have had exedy clutches in them, and when i have installed a luk clutch, its an exedy in a luk box. i had read the same thing for the ss/sc, however ive never had the clutch out of one.

keep in mind clutch manufacturors share parts, ive had a luk kit come with an AP pressure plate and valeo disk.

another thought, isnt spec just the aftermarket performance side of valeo???
