So does anybody know when the 09's orders are gonna be started? I'm not expecting it anytime soon... Just wondering if anybody has a rough estimate? And the reconfigurable performance display... Any idea on a price for that? I had my dealer add the option, but they don't have a price for it yet in their system... Just wanna make sure I didn't ask for a $2000 (not worth it) option, cuz i'll just have them take it out of the order if it's too much!

 

I ordered the '09 as well. The dealer tried to assure me the total price wouldn't change much, I tend to agree but I'm skeptical. Performance Display? GM? Sounds like a several hundred dollar option to me. Ideally it's probably $295 (really shouldn't be more than $150, but hey, there has to be an upcharge). Seems like a similar upgrade to the high profile wing.

I'm just waiting to be pissed off when they accept my order, it's permanent, and they announce the Nav option. Which would make my dealer smile because I'll have them add that at the dealer...

 

Hah, i see in your sig a USBRadio, i didn't see that on their computer, but i did see UPF - Wireless Interface Short Rang, Voice Rec (Which i'm guessing in the bluetooth radio) and, UQ3 - Sound System, 7 speaker. Thats all i have for a stereo system. Is the USB Integrated into that radio option?

 

There are two options on the radio in their system. The standard one that's also on the '08 and a new option which is the standard radio but with a USB port which I assume lets you play MP3s off of a flash drive (16gb for $59.99!!!).

The Bluetooth is a standard feature, as well as the 7-speaker pioneer (4 speakers + 2 tweeters + subwoofer?).

Also, we should keep this thread around for the two of us. I think we're the only two idiots with '09s on order.

From what the dealers have been telling me, we likely won't see any 09's on dealer lots until September. In canada anyway. But, they can be ordered right now... and most dealers will say that if it's able to be ordered, it's typically no more then 3 months away. So, we might start seeing them pop up around August.

End of this month? That seems way to early for an 09 model.. I mean, the 08's are only just starting to arrive at dealers over the last 2 weeks.

My dealer told me the 09's are expected to start production mid-end of June. But, we all know how much bullshit dealers spit out.

 

My dealer told me mid-July. So I'm going to assume sometime between August and "The Big Freeze" I'll have it.

 

I heard September, which is why I decided to forget about ordering an '09.

 

lol, sounds good to me. Well, he didn't say anything about the USB option for the radio, so my guess is i'll have the standard radio, with the bluetooth and 7 speakers.. and yea, it's 4 spks, 2 tweeters and a sub... but that sub is probably gonna be upgraded... i have a 12" L7 in my car now, so thats gonna come with me. And the radio isn't really a big deal to me, i'm gonna hook up my iPhone to it anyway... thats got all my music on it... Let me know if you get any updates on your car.. my guy said the order should be put into the system tomorrow... so if you get a price for the RPD, share the info... looks like we have pretty much the same build, just the different spoiler and interior color

 

I'll be getting an '09 as well, since I am getting the sedan. No order placed yet, waiting til fall.

 

If you talk to most salesman ant dealerships here they say it will come in september. Most of them didnt really know about the car at all (rydell dealerships especially)

 

I know for damn sure the 09's will be out by the time I'm ready to order one...early next year....and I hope they add the black wheels.

 

I'm not understanding this September deal, from what I understand Chevy will start producing the 09's in a matter of week or two...why in the world would GM want to hold onto these cars for 2 plus months...it's not like there going to become more valuable.

In my mind I know I should realistically have mine around the first or second week of August. But I don't want to get my hopes up, if I do they will be delayed until November. It's just my luck.

 

As far as I've been informed, the 09's will start production around the end of June, but with QA, packing, shipping, delivery, paperwork... all that other **** that happens after the car is off the assembly line, you're looking at some time first/second week of August before the cars are on the street (Pure guestimation of course).

Since there are dealers that have had orders in for 09's for a long time now, and since my local dealer hasn't ordered any 09's yet, I was told to expect September before we see one around here.

But, we will likely start seeing them pop up on the streets in early August around the States.

 

Is there a way to check on your order without the help of your dealer?

 

Went to see my dealer today, just to make sure everything is going good... wasn't taken past event code 1100 yet, but he said they are gonna start the 09's VERY soon, he said VERY early in August, if even that long.. so hopefully that wasn't BS... i know the dealer pretty well by now, actually know the owners son... fixed his computer (pays to be a computer tech)... so hopefully i'll get my car SOON!

And i don't think there's a way to check an order outside of the dealer... they are the only ones that have access to that system. i believe...

 

I'm emailing my dealer to see if they have any different information. Hopefully my proximity to Lordstown will help. Apparently, the guy selling me my car has contacts who work on the factory floor at Lordstown who can tell him the day they switch over.

Also, I'm asking for my event code. Mostly, to confirm they order has been placed. I don't trust anyone after my experience at a competing dealership in the area.
