Has anyone had a tune done at AFI in Edmonton?
I heard about this AFI (Advanced Fuel Injection) place in Edmonton through word of mouth so I went to go check it out and I talked to this guy who basically told me that the Stage 2 tune is **** and if I noticed any performance gains from the stage 2 that I was crazy (I must be crazy then)... Anyways, he told me he would do a tune on my car that would produce an extra 30-40 horsepower... now this seems unbelievable to me. He told me that he has done a tune on 3 other cobalt ss/sc in Edmonton and that they were all extremely satisfied. I'm hoping to get some feedback before I waste $600 bucks on this so if anyone knows about this place or any other place I would appreciate any info
well every city usually has "THE" shop, as in a reputable one, so hopefully some edmonton people will speak up with their personal experiences. The reputable one in winnipeg wants to charge $1000 lol.

well because its warranty approved GM has tuned it to be very safe. very safe = not as much power as it could have with a better tune.
you can have it tuned for more power and still be safe though...

AFI are great guys, quality dyno shop. as for their tuning, I cant really say, as i havent seen them do any cobalts.
I can certainly straighten out your S2 tune, and get you a few more ponies out of it.
only thing I require, is that you have a Wideband AFR guage.

Wow... that was fast!!! Your speaking French to me when you say that I need a wideband AFR guage??? I would definately be interested in getting a tune done by you... I work up by Fort Crack so I'm only in Edmonton 4 days at a time so hopefully we can make something work.
they usually cost between 250-300, and you need to have a bung installed in your downpipe before the cat, for the sensor to go in, which you can usually get done for like $20-30 at an exhaust shop.
wideband AFR, reads your air fuel ratios, and its very important for getting a tune done properly.

I've got plenty of bung in my downpipe
I'll be in Edmonton next weekend and if its not raining I'll be out at the track so if you're out there I'll talk to you about this.
how much of a gain do you think you can get out of a s2 ive got almost the same mods as ajh79 and i think it runs really lumpy when i lift up on accelerator i figure i need a re flash or a good tune, GM dealers have been my only source of information and i dont think they could diagnose a flat tire, but im on my second cobalt ss sc and still love it and want to go faster, faster. i would appreciate any help you could give. and i could supply a pair of hands and lots of beer (and of course money for your time) im in south edmonton and could access a well lit, some what tooled up shop. it seems im on a long list of people who need your help.

If I add the price of all that plus paying you a couple hundred bucks its really not any cheaper then AFI so my decision is torn... not that i don't trust you but sometimes its better getting **** done in a shop in case something goes wrong... i can't really hold you liable for any **** ups
