I took my cobalt ss to the dealership and just got it back today. The main problem was the intermediate steering shaft causing a popping noise when turning at slow speeds. When I got the car back, I saw they put 12 miles on it. Does it really take 12 miles to test and diagnose the problem??? Shit you can do that in about .1 miles in a parking lot.

Next I told them my steering wheel was starting to fade and peel a little bit on the top. I got back in my car and still the faded and peeling steering wheel. Is that covered? I know its from sun and regular wear, but the car is just under 3 years old and has 30,000 miles on it. Stuff like this should not be happening yet.

the tech prob took it out a bunck of times trying to figure it out. by trying one thing he think it might be and drive it to see if it got better. he prob did that a bunch of times. all i cna thinks of being a gm tech myself.

I would do what i could to try and get the steering wheel replaced, but thats just my opinion. Because once the warrenty's gone, you have no arguement at all.

If i wrote down my millage on a piece of paper or took a picture, and I get the car back with a whole lot more miles than it originally was, could I do anything about it? My sis took her car to get fixed at geico once, and in her gps was set to go to some Portuguese restaurant in bayonne. Is there any way you can get a place in trouble for them "joy riding" your car?

my friend works at the dealership i bought my car from and they always joy ride nice cars. tHEY SAY IF YOU BRING YOUR CORVETTE IN FOR A oil change they take the car for 20 min joy rides to 'test the oil'. He also told me another story where a guy had a custom civic and the tecs took it for a joy ride almost totalling it and burning the clutch. whenever i take my car in i take a pic of the mileage, if its more than one mile on it then i will complain. my friend said if you complain the tecs could be fired for fucking with your car.
