View Full Version : $3000 for the Stage II supercharger
kraker 01-26-2006, 05:08 PM How many people here have checked prices on these around thier areas and/or different places. I just called a dealer here in Tulsa, Oklahoma and their price quote was $3000 dollars. I asked the guy if it was still covered under warrenty after the upgrade he said he did not know but proboly not. GM does claim to back the upgrade tho. Anybody have any other advice or better quotes on the price??
distillion 01-26-2006, 05:10 PM That seems a lil high, maybe he was talkin about the actual supercharger or something of that nature.

If it is an actul supercharger mabe it is worth it but if your talking Gm stage 1/2 kits read below:
please bro dont come on here and post info like that :thumbsdow people will sell there car tomarrow!
its a pulley and some ECU reprogramming
put on a pulley (hour at the most)
ECU reprogram (put in a plug to ECU, start reprogram)
no way that is 3000 dollars or GM will go bankrupt everyone will buy intense stage 3, REV IT UP KIT, or just go turbo if that is the case!
even stage 1
Fuel injectors (500 at the most)
ECU reprogram (put in a plug to ECU, start reprogram)
Nuclear 01-26-2006, 05:18 PM I just talk to my parts guy and he said no prices yet for stage 2!
kraker 01-27-2006, 04:40 PM I called a GM dealer which I read on that's who we are recommend to by from. All i know is that I asked for the Stage two. The power increase a bit more don't know exactlly how much. If anyone does know fill all of us in if you can.
MarcS 01-27-2006, 04:42 PM Firstly, dealers don't have any clue right now.
Also, there is no way stage 2 will be 3k. You can buy the actual motor for that much.
maxpit 01-27-2006, 04:45 PM 3 Grand better be buying a whole new supercharger. If it is what the power output from that thing?

I think the price you got was the price for the GM Performance Parts kit for the Cavalier and Sunfire. That kit puts all of the supercharger parts from the Cobalt SS in a kit for the Cavaliers and Sunfires. I have heard that the Stage 2 kit from GM which includes the stage 1 kit, will be out very soon and should be priced under $800. I also heard that GM will back the kit under warranty.
:cssNET:
pclear9061 02-01-2006, 08:12 PM i HIGHLY doubt that gm will have a upgraded s/c. it might be for the non ss/sc / RL owners ...........
sheek360 02-01-2006, 09:51 PM Ok i got a RL, BUT PUT THE GUNS DOWN PLEASE, I come bearing news. I called Saturn of West Dade here in Miami Florida, the lady said RL stage 2 will be $800.00, includes ecu, injectors, pulley, belt, and tensioner. And it wont void the warranty.
astrocrep 02-01-2006, 09:58 PM Can anyone back this up?

That's what everybody's been speculating for a while, the only real ???? left is how much they're going to charge for install.
05_Blue_B10WN_SS 02-02-2006, 12:00 AM I can't wait till someone gets stage 2 and gets there car dyno'd.

Well, when I got the print-out for the stage 1 kit and it said it was unavailable it had 'INSTALL 1.0' on it. So, not that the question is answered....but hopefully it's only an hour.
astrocrep 02-02-2006, 09:12 AM I am going to hound a couple of local dealers today and see what I can kick up.

If your saying that because of warranty issues, federal law states that even in the event of chapter 11, chapter 7, etc, GM still has to provide warranty service under the terms and conditions signed upon during purchase..

The install 1.0 is probably the labor time involved.

I called her and she said that there's no way of her printing it. The PC they got that can connect to the internet had no printing capabilities. I asked her for the website and she said that it's password protected. "I assure you, soon as we can take orders, I will call you." Feel free to call her. BTW I keep forgetting to get her darn name.

No, that's fine, I just wanted to see for myself... I'm up in Canada and the long distance on a cell would kill me, but I've waited this long, I'm sure I can wait a bit longer.
