Cool lowered ss/tc?

So has anyone lowered their ss/tc yet? I saw all the photoshopped pictures, but I was wondering if anyone has actually done it.

I would love to lower mine as it would look amazing. But I know that it is supposed to have great handling/a great suspension(which I think it does). And I don't want to ruin that. I'm kind of waiting for others to take the plunge first and let me know how it handles. What are peoples oppinions on just getting lowering springs, or getting lowering spring + coil overs? How does a lowered ss/sc with springs and coilovers compare to the handling of a stock ss/tc setup? Just trying to get some other peoples thoughts.

Coolry, I have the same thoughts........ How do you improve a suspension that bested the FWD record at the Nuremburg Ring? Will throwing springs at it improve or hinder handling? Sure it will look better but will it sacrafice an already good ride? Its really to bad that all cars dont sit like an M3, it seems as though BMW's have a perfect aggressive stance. I'll probably throw some springs at it and see what happens, I just havent made up my mind yet.....

the gmp techs reallly went to town on the suspension modifications from the s/c to the t/c...the moved the steering knuckles up and made numerous other changes...i'd definitely wait because the suspension on the t/c's stock is supposed to be verry good

I would wait, usualyl lowering springs hurt performance. Even coilovers. if you don't know how to adjust them properly will hurt performance.

"Almost everybody does it. Lowering your car is paramount to improving its handling. The key, however, is to lower it just enough to gain the benefits it creates without suffering the potential drawbacks.

The aftermarket does little to help us in this regard. Nearly every company that makes suspension components, even very reputable ones, spews out thousands of sets of lowering springs that are both too low and too soft for optimal handling. Why do they do this? Are the engineers at these companies incompetent? Is it a conspiracy to make our cars suck? No, the enthusiast is to blame."
