I want to do somethings to mine, but to be honest, i have no idea when it comes to the new computerized 4 cyl. engines. I could tell you a little about the older engines, but not these. I dont know what i should do to mine. I like the idea of the warranty, but you can only go so far with GM parts, and i dont know if that'll be good enough. Help, what should i do?

^ yup do that.. its what I did and the car is perfect for me. I also have a custom tune..my dealer screwed up when they did my Stage2. threw away the code w/o doing the flash...hint.. if you get the Stage 2 done.. make sure you get ALL your old parts back INCLUDING the paperwork.. that was my downfall..
happy modding....

yeap....if you wanna keep warranty...gmpp exhaust, gmpp intake and a gmpp stage 2 all with dealer install otherwise its not covered

I'm in the central part of illinois, by peoria and bloomington etc.

is it true that if you put a cold air intake on, it'll void your warranty? cuze i was told that and GM doesnt make a CAI for the supercharged engine

GM does make a CAI i believe....but they CANNOT void your warranty for a CAI unless they PROVE that it caused the part failure...its the law

well, i dont know if i want to keep the warranty and do it that way or, someone else said to put 60 lb. injectors and get a 2.7 pulley, then a tune and it'll run a lot better than the stage 2, but there goes the warranty.

exactly but the tunes are reversible back to stock and you can install a stage kit yourself easily...so you could install a kit that wouldnt be coverd under warranty and if something goes wrong...you reinstall the stock parts an get the pcm reflashed to stock perameters and take it back for warranty work ;)

don't get a 2.7 and 60's unless you have A LOT of cooling mods. thats what i'm doing first when i start modding.
Cobra h/e
Injen CAI
Dual pass with option B
Meth injection
THEN the performance
2.6 or 2.7
60's
dyno tune
header back exhaust
and maybe a 50 shot for the track

Then i think i will just go the stage 2 route. well, does anyone have suggestions on a shifter? I test drove a new turbo balt and i really like the short throw shifter and i want one.

all the s/c are STS from the factory however you supposedly gain a lil more when you switch...most ppl get a B&M STS or Hurst STS...whichever you like better....i have a Hurst STS and they both cost about the same

stage2 would be a good route to go for the first mod. but don't get it from the dealer, get it from CED or any other site that sells it. dealers charge way too much for the kit itself. so by it from somewhere else and then have the dealer install it.

one of the dealers around here sells it for $650 and $80 an hour for labor. I have seen it on a website for $635 but shipping is $10 so its about the same except i wont have to wait at the dealer. Not to be a pain in asking so many questions but, doesnt GM make an axhaust manifold and an aftermarket catback?

yes they do....and CED sells the stage 2 for 550$....and gmpp has a honed header they sell and there is a gmpp cat back that is 2.25" tho.....and you should get a better downpipe but you have to buy that aftermarket since gmpp doesnt offer a downpipe
